Director Patient Access Services-Rockwall

Position Highlights

Texas Health Hospital Rockwall has served Rockwall, Kaufman, Hunt, and surrounding counties since 2007. Our 105-bed acute care hospital provides medical and surgical services to patients from Rockwall, Heath, Fate, Royse City, McLendon-Chisholm, eastern Dallas County, southern Collin County, and nearby communities.

Our hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical services, including a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, labor and delivery suites, cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology suite, expanded surgery suites, and emergency and intensive care areas. More than 60 physicians practice at Texas Health Rockwall. Our campus also houses a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, bariatric clinic, ambulatory surgery center, and physician practices.

Texas Health Rockwall has earned a CMS Five-Star Rating for patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. We also hold the ANCC Pathways to Excellence designation for nursing.

Key Responsibilities

Oversees operations for assigned entity(ies) for Patient Access Services, including patient registration, pre-admission, pre-certification and verification of accounts, patient financial counseling, emergency service registration, scheduling, cashier and other related patient access services.

. Responsible for the design and implementation of entity and/or system policies related to data collections, patient and family education, the Corporate Compliance program, patient rights and responsibilities, legal consents, release of information, medical staff bylaws and JCAHO, state and federal regulations as needed.
. Responsible for ensuring the entity's achievement of Patient Access KPI's such as: prevention/resolution of duplicate Medical Record Rate, prevention/decrease of bad address rate.
. Provides oversight and direction for system downtime procedures and implementation.

. Ensures that employees within the department are treated within the guidelines of the THR Promise and that Promise information and training is effectively communicated.
. Recruits, hires, dismisses, disciplines and performs performance evaluations according to system policies/procedures.
. Ensures that new employees receive appropriate system and departmental training and that necessary follow-up training is provided staff with quality performance issues. Ensures appropriate on-line Patient Access education completion rates and implement training needs as identified by the PAS Council.

. Implements policies and procedures and standardized processes to meet agreed upon performance standards set for Patient Access.
. Utilizes of front end tools/processes KFA status and action plans to address operational deficiencies.
. Submits monthly statistics/reporting as required.
. Resolution of specific issues as identified by Entity CFO or other senior leadership as required.

Completes other duties and/or participates in special project as assigned.

Education
H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 4 additional years relevant work experience in lieu of a degree required. Or, Bachelor's Degree Business, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field and 3 years experience required

Experience
3 years relevant work experience in a healthcare business office, patient access, etc. (with Bachelor's Degree) required. Or, 7 years relevant work experience in a healthcare business office, patient access, etc. (without Bachelor's Degree) required
2 years experience managing and/or leading a team is preferred
