Full Job Description
The Director of Work Management provides strategic leadership and oversight for the station's online and outage work management organizations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and disciplined execution of plant maintenance and operational activities. This position is responsible for leading the site's work control, scheduling, outage planning, outage execution, and risk management programs while directly overseeing the performance of the Work Management Manager and Outage Manager.

Location: Covert, MI

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the online work execution process. Identify process problems and implement corrective actions to address those problems in a timely manner.
  • Participate in various senior management committees and forums (e.g., Plant Health Committee, On-Site Safety Review Committee, Management Review Committee, Cost Control Tower, ALARA Management Committee, etc.)
  • Direct refueling outage preparation, planning, and scheduling while ensuring the status of these activities is accurately communicated to the management team.
  • Participate in key meetings, business planning, budget meetings, and performance review meetings. Fulfill managerial responsibilities regarding assigned staff (e.g., employee development, compensation, performance reviews, etc.). Ensure consistent and effective work force practices through assigned supervisors and functions.
  • Direct the preparation, planning, and scheduling of non-refueling outages (forced, planned, down powers) of current cycle.
  • Oversee Online and Outage Risk Management programs to ensure safe plant operations.
  • Identify and implement industry best practices and programs. Modify Work Management and Outage processes to attain and maintain top quartile performance at the station.
  • Perform routine monitoring and appraisal of the effectiveness of Work Control and Outage processes. Provide feedback to management regarding performance and recommendations for improvement.


REQUIREMENTS
  • B.S. degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations.
  • 8 years of power plant experience of which a minimum of 3 years must be nuclear power plant experience.
  • A maximum of 2 years of the remaining 5 years of power plant experience may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic or technical training on a one for one basis.
