Responsibilities

  • Recruit new advisors to the AE Wealth Management platform by building and maintaining a list of qualified leads.
  • Coach advisors on product proposals and strategies to grow their practice and increase assets on the platform.
  • Conduct weekly outbound calls with existing advisors to share insights and sales strategies.
  • Execute targeted marketing campaigns to engage potential advisors through various channels.
  • Oversee the licensing and contracting process for new advisors while maintaining post-onboarding engagement.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the company's platform, products, and vendor strategies.

Job Posting Title: Director of Wealth (Level 1)

Department: Wealth Management

Reporting to: VP of Wealth Management

Location: On-site in Topeka or Lenexa, KS office

Overview:

If you know investment products and enjoy building relationships that drive real business growth, we'd love to see your resume for this position! As a Director of Wealth, you'll work alongside our VP of Wealth to bring new advisors onto the AE Wealth Management platform and coach existing advisors on strategies to grow their practices. This is a great next step for someone with a broker-dealer, investment management, or RIA background who's ready to move into a more consultative, growth-focused role.

What you'll do:
  • Recruit new advisors to the AE Wealth Management platform, building and maintaining your own list of qualified leads through warm contacts and ongoing relationship building
  • Coach advisors on product proposals, models, and strategies designed to grow their practice and drive assets to our platform
  • Run weekly outbound call campaigns with existing advisors, sharing product insights, new marketing and branding ideas, and sales strategies
  • Execute marketing campaigns to prospects through email, webinars, and mailings, and contribute ideas to help grow the advisor base
  • Oversee the licensing and contracting process for new advisors and stay engaged with them after onboarding
  • Build and maintain expert-level knowledge of our platform, vendors, products, and strategies

Experience you'll bring:
  • Minimum of 3 years of Broker Dealer, Investment Management, and/or Registered Investment Advisor experience - direct advisor contact preferred
  • Series 65 license, or willingness to obtain one within your first 12 months
  • Knowledge of investment products and an understanding of financial planning, capital markets, and compliance
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills, with the ability to explain complex products and strategies clearly
  • Strong writing skills and comfort working with financial data
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Points:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • FINRA Series 7 and/or 66 license
  • Previous sales or recruiting experience
  • Working toward a CFP, ChFC, CPWA, CIMA, or CFA designation
