As Director of Trust for eBay Live, you will define and lead the end-to-end trust strategy, operating model, and execution plan for one of eBay's most important growth plays. Trust is the foundation of every interaction between buyers and sellers, and this is especially true in eBay Live, our rapidly scaling live commerce platform where people connect, interact, and transact in real time. You will shape how trust shows up across the full eBay Live experience, from policy and protections through moderation, standards, issue resolution, and post-transaction experiences, ensuring buyers and sellers participate with confidence.
This role requires an accomplished leader who can move seamlessly between long-term strategy and day-to-day execution. You will deeply understand the competitive environment, buyer and seller needs, and the evolution of live commerce, and translate those insights into clear priorities, strong cross-functional plans, and measurable marketplace outcomes. You will embed deeply with the eBay Live business while also staying tightly connected to the broader Global Trust agenda so that Live benefits from, and contributes to, the best thinking across the Trust organization.
You will partner closely with many teams - Product, Analytics, Engineering, Design, Customer Support, Policy, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Regulatory, and business teams to ensure eBay Live trust experiences are aligned, globally scalable, and operationally effective. You will also lead and develop a strong team of managers and individual contributors, building an organization that can operate at pace, deal with ambiguity, and deliver trusted experiences for the next phase of eBay Live growth.

What you'll accomplishLead the end-to-end Trust strategy for eBay Live- Define the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Trust across eBay Live, ensuring eBay is the most trusted live commerce platform for buyers and sellers.
- Lead the end-to-end Trust agenda across policy, protections, moderation, standards, issue resolution, and post-transaction experiences, ensuring these come together as one coherent customer experience.
- Balance immediate execution needs with longer-term platform building, grounded in buyer and seller needs, competitive context, and emerging risks.
Lead cross-functional execution to deliver - Partner closely with senior leaders across eBay Live, Product Management, Engineering, Analytics, Design, Customer Support, Policy, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Regulatory to drive aligned, end-to-end solutions.
- Represent the Trust perspective in key business and product decisions, balancing customer experience, marketplace integrity, policy consistency, and regulatory obligations.
- Translate strategy into clear objectives, goals, plans, milestones, success metrics, and launches that deliver measurable outcomes.
Run the business and strengthen operational performance- Lead the operating cadence for Trust within eBay Live, ensuring priorities are visible, progress is tracked, and risks are surfaced early.
- Monitor Live Trust performance globally, using customer insight, analytics, and AI-enabled approaches to identify issues, size opportunities, and improve decision-making.
- Build and improve the processes, systems, reporting, and feedback loops needed to run Trust for eBay Live effectively at scale.
Build a high-performing team and strong partnerships- Lead, coach, and develop a strong team of managers and individual contributors, creating clarity, high standards, and strong development paths.
- Build trusted partnerships across the organization, ensuring Trust is seen as a strategic partner to the eBay Live business.
- Partner effectively across the broader Trust organization so that eBay Live remains aligned with broader plans, company-wide priorities, and shared capabilities.
What you'll bring- Significant leadership experience in Trust and Safety, strategy and operations, marketplace operations, live commerce, or a related field, ideally in a global and fast-moving environment.
- A proven track record to define strategy, drive execution, and build operating mechanisms that translate complex goals into measurable outcomes.
- Strong customer instincts and judgment, with a deep appreciation for buyer and seller needs and the ability to balance growth, experience, fairness, and risk.
- Outstanding executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence in a highly matrixed organization.

Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$195,200 - $260,600
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
