How This Role Impacts Live Oak and Its People

The Director of Treasury Management, Sales will lead the sales team behind one of the fastest-growing product lines at Live Oak Bank. Small businesses across the country rely on Live Oak for lending — and increasingly, they're turning to us for the everyday tools that keep their business running, like checking accounts, digital treasury management, and payments. This role is responsible for building and growing the sales strategy that gets those tools into the hands of small business owners.

This leader manages and coaches a growing team of Business Development Officers and Senior Business Development Officers, sets the direction for how the team sells and who they sell to, and partners closely with lending, product, and onboarding teams to make sure customers have a smooth experience from their first conversation with Live Oak through their first year of business banking with us.

This is a highly collaborative role. Success means building strong internal partnerships, developing repeatable sales processes, and creating real growth opportunities for the team — all while keeping the customer's needs at the center of every decision.

What You'll Do at Live Oak

  • Own the sales strategy and revenue goals for treasury management products across Small Business Banking, Commercial, and Treasury Management client segments

  • Partner with Finance/FP&A to set deposit goals based on the latest forecasts, and build a budget that supports the sales strategy and helps the team hit those goals

  • Build, coach, and develop a team of Business Development Officers and Senior Business Development Officers, including identifying training needs and closing knowledge gaps

  • Set expectations and vertical assignments, along with sales quotas, across the team

  • Own the treasury management sales pipeline and forecasting, and report progress to senior leadership

  • Partner with the Strategy team to keep sales priorities aligned with the treasury management product roadmap, and work with them to prioritize the onboarding of new products and services

  • Partner with the Director of Treasury Management Portfolio to ensure a smooth handoff of new clients from sales to onboarding

  • Collaborate with other business lines, including Small Business Banking, Commercial, Merchant Services, and Embedded Banking, to roll out new products and initiatives that support deposit growth

  • Ensure the sales team can identify which customers are a good fit for merchant services and make a confident, informed referral; Ensure the team has working knowledge/training of our merchant services options to position the opportunity accurately

  • Define and execute a deposit sales strategy that reaches both our existing loan and deposit customers and new customers through outside sales channels, including new partnership opportunities within our lending relationships, and build a sales execution strategy for channels beyond Live Oak's traditional lending business

  • Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC

  • Build sales offerings and programs that meet both client needs and bank objectives

  • Track and report on sales performance over time, including trends in attrition, customer engagement, balances, and revenue, to spot opportunities and course-correct early

  • Partner with marketing, technology, onboarding and portfolio management and Operations to ensure they have a clear, shared understanding of our treasury management goals and how our products create value as well work with them to shape new product features and services

  • Help build strong first-line risk practices by partnering closely with Operations, Compliance, Fraud, and Legal

  • Bring a confident, steady presence to leading your team and collaborating with partners and sales channels across the bank

  • Advocate for both the bank and the customer on product features, functionality, and usability — while pushing for solutions that do not create manual work for internal support teams

  • Champion new ideas, weighing multiple options to find the best path to our goals

  • Take a strategy from concept to market — and know how to measure, evaluate, and adjust along the way

  • Build trust with peers and partners, and genuinely invest in the growth of the people on your team

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial services, with a preference for treasury management, cash management, or commercial banking sales

  • 5+ years of experience leading, coaching, or managing a sales team

  • A track record of building and executing sales strategies that grow revenue

  • Strong communication skills and a partner-centric approach to working across sales, product, and operations teams

  • A customer-centric mindset, with the ability to translate customer needs into the right treasury management solutions

  • A track record of success managing a complex, multi-faceted sales business

Preferred Experience

  • Experience selling treasury management or cash management products to small business or commercial clients

  • Experience building or scaling a sales team, including designing training programs

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to bring together different pieces of information to shape a sales strategy

  • Excellent planning and decision-making skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The base pay range for this position is $190,180.00 - $262,140.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
