About the Job

The Director of Training will lead a team of full- and part-time Training Specialists, ensuring the department continually delivers high-quality, engaging, objective-based training and consulting services to Aeries districts. This role will provide team management and leadership to all staff within the Training department with a focus on the quality of customer experience and outcomes. The Director will be empowered to make tactical day-to-day and long-term strategic decisions, is accountable for the Training P&L, and all activities performed by the team.

What You'll Do

  • Consult with new and current Aeries districts to identify training needs and develop custom training or consulting plans.
  • Define and implement effective processes and strategies for scheduling of training and consulting requests, new product implementation training, and sales demonstrations. This includes the effective allocation of staffing resources based on trainer subject matter expertise, coordinating follow-up communications to districts, and appropriate coordination with other departments on training referral processes and billing.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of ongoing webinars and workshops that align the annual customer calendar.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of training pedagogy in order to direct the creation and maintenance of a breadth of purposeful and effective training resources for all Aeries customers.
  • Ensure the department continually audits, updates and develops internal training materials and comprehensive on-demand customer-facing training resources for Aeries districts.
  • Lead the ongoing creation and management of Aeries Academy Content.
  • Lead the planning and development of the master schedule and presenter assignments of annual AeriesCon events.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Customer Support, Director of Customer Success, and Director of Implementation and Professional Services on the planning and delivery of professional development activities for members of the Customer Experience division with a direct focus on ensuring staff maintain a working knowledge of all Aeries features and have the capacity for delivering high-quality, engaging, outcome-driven training in a variety of formats.
  • Track and report on department KPIs and metrics to monitor performance, identify trends, and support continuous improvement.
  • Own the Training department P&L, including responsibility for managing budgets, controlling costs, and achieving department margin targets.


What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience leading training operations, instructional design teams, or customer education departments, ideally managing a mix of full-time and part-time remote employees.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent job experience) in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Deep working knowledge of K-12 school operations, school district calendars, and Student Information Systems (SIS).
  • Proven capability designing complex personnel schedules, managing technical assets (LMS systems, corporate video conferencing accounts), and navigating cross-departmental billing/referral pipelines.
  • Aeries Experience Preferred
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or project management credentials (PMP, Agile/Scrum) Preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday. Typical hours align with 7:30/8am - 4:30/5pm PT


Work Location

  • Primarily remote; a reliable, distraction-minimized home workspace is expected.
  • Must work from one of the following states: AZ, CA, FL, MD, ME, MI, MO, NV, NY, OK, OR, SC, TX, UT, WA, WY, OH, and NC.
  • CA and TX is preferred.


Travel Requirements

  • Up to 50% travel to customer districts, conferences, and industry events across California, Texas, and other key markets.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sustained focus during screen and computer-based work
  • Ability to travel as required


Compensation

  • $110,000 - $135,000 annualized base salary, based on experience & skills
