Description & Details:

The director of the Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology provides strategic leadership for the Center while supporting the College of Business's mission of developing future sales professionals. The position combines administrative leadership, teaching, and service responsibilities, with a focus on industry engagement, student success, experiential learning, and sales education. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the Arden and Donna Hetland Distinguished director of the Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology under a three-year, full-time, non-tenure track appointment.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Center, including planning, prioritizing initiatives, and overseeing day-to-day operations and budget management.
  • Collaborate with the Department Chair and Dean to advance the Center's goals and strengthen its impact on student success and industry engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business leaders and stakeholders in professional selling, sales management, CRM, sales analytics, and sales technology.
  • Teach a 3/3 course load in areas such as professional selling, sales management, sales technology, CRM systems, sales analytics, and related disciplines.
  • Coordinate and oversee all sales-related internship opportunities and partnerships.
  • Support experiential learning and career readiness by connecting students with industry professionals and organizations.
  • Perform service activities that support the department, college, and university.
  • Maintain qualifications required for accreditation through ongoing professional development and industry engagement.
  • Promote continuous improvement and growth of sales education programs and the Center's industry partnerships.
Hiring Range:

Starting at $135,000 annually

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of industry experience in sales, sales management, sales operations, or related fields
  • Candidates must meet College of Business faculty qualification standards for accreditation in the area of sales or marketing, which includes a graduate degree along with significant professional experience in the field.
  • Previous record of teaching in the areas of sales, marketing, or related courses in person, hybrid, or online.
  • Previous record of collaboration with sales organizations, corporate partners, or industry associations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Evidence of high-quality university-level teaching in sales, sales technology, marketing, or related fields
  • Evidence of involvement in professional development and professional organizations.
  • Evidence of commitment to student success
  • Previous record of administrative experience in similar educational entities
  • At least five years of professional experience in sales with increasing responsibility
