Enlighten is seeking a Director of Technology to provide visionary technical and operational leadership across our sector-wide programs. In this role, you will bridge deep technical vision with market strategy, capture excellence, and full P&L oversight. You will lead long-range planning, drive new business acquisition, and direct innovation pipelines to support operational systems at multiple military and intelligence locations, both CONUS and OCONUS. If you have a proven track record of scaling high-performing engineering organizations, winning high-leverage programs, and delivering mission-critical capabilities in Cyber, Cloud, and AI/ML ecosystems, we want you on our team.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Interface with users at all levels, serving as a senior technical executive and prime contact to DoD and Intelligence Community stakeholders, directors, and senior-level customer management.
  • Responsible for executive management, growth strategy, and P&L performance of multi-program operations, driving new customer acquisition, contract expansion, and long-term capability alignment.
  • Install and lead robust capture and proposal frameworks, directing the technical solutioning for high-visibility captures, including win themes, teaming partnerships, and discriminator strategies.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation, defining enterprise technology strategies across cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity/Zero Trust, AI/ML, and data platform engineering.
  • Provide strategic oversight for product and innovation portfolio management, aligning internal R&D investments with strategic federal priorities to ensure direct support to program and capture success.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Clearance Requirement: Must currently have and maintain an active full scope polygraph level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • 15+ years of relevant progressive engineering and technology leadership experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR 13+ years of relevant progressive experience with a Master's degree; OR a High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years of relevant progressive experience.
  • Must have at least 10+ years in an executive-level management role (e.g., CTO, VP, or Director) with demonstrated P&L ownership.
  • Proven track record of success in Capture Strategy & Proposal Leadership, with experience leading and winning major program captures for DoD and/or Intelligence Community customers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building, scaling, and mentoring high-performing software and systems engineering organizations.
  • Deep technical knowledge spanning Enterprise Technology Vision & Architecture, Cybersecurity, Cloud/Data Platform Engineering, and emerging tech like AI/ML and applied automation.
  • Excellent communication and customer advisory skills, with a knack for navigating ambiguity and influencing critical business decisions.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time CONUS and OCONUS to visit customer and remote locations as needed. Flexibility is essential to meet the changing needs of the company.
  • Work is hybrid out of our Columbia, MD headquarters, with a minimum of 3 days on-site weekly.


Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience or familiarity with Big Data Platforms or Data Lake architectures is a plus.
  • DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
  • Experience leading corporate product development strategy and execution for next-generation defense capabilities.
  • Experience with non-traditional and commercial firm-fixed price contracting.
