Overview

Position Summary

The Director of Tax is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive tax policies across Titan America. This role ensures compliance with U.S. tax laws and Group policies while minimizing overall tax liabilities through strategic tax planning, risk management, and effective compliance programs. The Director will also provide leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction to both internal teams and external advisors, ensuring that all tax functions operate efficiently and in alignment with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Tax Strategy and Compliance
  • Develop and execute tax policies and strategies to minimize the overall U.S. tax burden within legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ensure full compliance with the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and applicable state and local tax laws.
  • Direct and manage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Oversee multiple external tax audits, negotiating and resolving issues to minimize liabilities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement tax planning opportunities and savings initiatives across the organization.
  • Partner with external tax consultants and governmental auditors to ensure accurate interpretation and application of tax laws.
  • Responsible for indirect taxes including sales & use, real estate, personal property and other regional or local taxes.


Advisory and Technical Guidance
  • Provide tax technical expertise and counsel to executive leadership, business units, and financial management teams in both the U.S. and Greece.
  • Advise on tax implications of business transactions, restructurings, and strategic initiatives.
  • Train and guide business unit controllers and accounting personnel on proper transactional tax treatment, including sales & use, property, fuel, and employment taxes.


Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop corporate tax and treasury personnel.
  • Manage external tax consulting relationships and ensure cost-effective, value-driven outcomes.
  • Promote collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth within the team.


Corporate Governance
  • Support the CFO and executive leadership in maintaining the organization's financial integrity and compliance posture.
