Full Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Director of Talent Management

STATUS: Full time / Exempt

LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid: 2 days/week on-site, 3 days/week remote)

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a strategic talent management leader to drive NCSBN in attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining a high-performing workforce.

Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the Director of Talent Management will establish and lead the organization's talent management strategy, including designing and implementing programs that support employee development, leadership capability, employee engagement, and organizational succession planning. This role will partner closely with leaders across the organization to build strong talent pipelines and a culture of continuous learning and growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced talent management professional with expertise in learning and development, recruiting and onboarding, and programs that create positive candidate and employee experiences. The successful candidate will bring a track record of creating and scaling talent programs and a passion for building organizational capabilities that help employees and the organization thrive.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead NCSBN's learning and development strategy, including building the Professional Growth Program (PGP) design and content.
  • Design and manage career development programs that promote professional growth.
  • Design employee experience initiatives that enhance engagement, belonging, and retention.
  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of talent programs and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and support recruiting and onboarding strategies and experiences that strengthen the organization's ability to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee implementation of a learning management system (LMS), including system strategy, administration, content management, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leaders to develop succession planning strategies and build organizational talent pipelines.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Ten years of progressive experience in talent management, learning and development, organizational development, or a related HR function, including at least five years in a supervisory role, required
  • Five years of recruiting and onboarding experience required.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CPTD or CPTM, preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing learning, employee development, and talent programs that foster engagement, improve retention, and drive individual and organizational performance.
  • Experience with learning management systems, recruiting strategies, and employee engagement practices.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Learning preferred.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals and needs into effective talent initiatives
  • Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, manage multiple priorities, and influence leaders across the organization.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on a candidate's relevant experience, skills, training, certifications/licenses, qualifications and geographical location.
