The OpportunityAs TopDog Law continues its rapid national growth, our Talent Acquisition function needs a playercoach who can lead a small team while staying hands-on with a personal req load. The Director of Talent Acquisition will manage up to two recruiters, own the company's internship program end-toend, and partner closely with the VP of Talent Acquisition on strategy and reporting - all while personally carrying and closing requisitions. This role also serves as TopDog Law's liaison to the legal community, building relationships with state and local law firm associations and representing the firm at legal conferences across the country. Expect meaningful travel (approximately 20%) as part of this role.
What You Will Own- Directly manage, coach, and develop up to two recruiters, setting clear performance expectations and holding the team accountable to results
- Personally own full-cycle recruiting for a dedicated requisition load, from intake through offer close
- Design, launch, and run the company's internship program end-to-end, supporting 30+ interns
- Partner with the VP of Talent Acquisition to shape TA strategy, headcount planning, and process improvements
- Own recurring reporting on team performance, pipeline health, and time-to-fill
- Build and maintain recruiter scorecards, using the data to drive coaching and accountability
- Continuously improve core TA workflows - intake, sourcing, interviews, offers, and onboarding handoffs
- Build and maintain partnerships with state and local law firm associations and legal industry groups
- Represent TopDog Law at legal conferences and industry events across multiple states, serving as the firm's liaison to the broader legal community
- Travel approximately 20% of the time to support conferences, association events, and in-person relationship building
What You BringRequired:- 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience across multiple functions or departments
- 3+ years directly managing recruiters, ideally in a player-coach capacity
- Experience building or running a structured internship/early-career program
- Strong data fluency - comfortable building and presenting recruiting metrics and scorecards
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with senior leadership
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20% of the time for conferences and association events
- Experience operating in a high-growth or scaling environment where process is still being formalized
- Experience recruiting for a legal, professional services, or client-centric organization

What We Offer- Base: 150,000 - 180,000, commensurate with experience
