Full Job Description
THE ROLE

This is a great opportunity for someone to lead the organization Supply Chain Function. The role is responsible for overseeing procurement and national distribution for our more than 80 locations across the continental United States. Our Supply Chain Director will also oversee our warehouse operations in Southern California and New York City. The role reports into the Chief Financial Officer.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Supply Chain Management

Make sure a portfolio of major suppliers are delivering required levels of service, in line with the overall supplier management strategy.

Strategy Formation and Implementation

Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources and assets being managed within a given area or department.

Supply Planning

Execute planning activities for a significant number of manufacturing/distribution units in a complex supply chain, including other processes/units/suppliers, and contribute strongly to the development of the overall supply chain planning framework and system.

Supplier Management

Monitor, review, and highlight any gaps in the performance of a portfolio of major suppliers to recommend and ensure delivery of improvements by suppliers or to renegotiate or change contract/supplier.

Continuous Improvement

Review existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.

Leadership and Director

Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these tenets and do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

Performance Management

Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.

Budgeting

Manage budget plans for a department. May involve development or delivery or both.

Organizational Capability Building

Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Distribution

Manage the transportation and distribution of goods and supplies for a large organization, using existing procedures; review and recommend improvements to procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.

ABOUT YOU

Previous experience in leading a supply chain portfolio required.
