- Assumes general supervision and organization of all special education and homeless programming in conformance with all local, state, and federal laws, policies and regulations.
- Works cooperatively with building principals to implement procedures for the screening, evaluation and implementation of appropriate educational plans for special needs students and assessments to determine the progress of these students and the effectiveness of special education programs.
- Works cooperatively with Building Administrators to arrange, schedules and supervise meetings with members of the special education staff, the general staff, parents, etc.
- Consults with building principals, teachers, parents and others concerned with the needs of and educational program provisions for special needs children including transportation and related services
- Reviews and approves educational plans for students recommended by the evaluation teams.
- Actively pursues and coordinates other sources of revenue or support including but not limited to state grants, federal grants, fellowships, school-community partnerships, gifts, and loans that pertain to his/her areas of responsibility.
- Works cooperatively with building and district administrators to manage homeless students,
- Works with the Superintendent on tasks and assignments as assigned.
COMPENSATION $110,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience
