Full Job Description
Provides supervision, oversight, and guidance to the sterile processing department within the assigned campus. Collaborates with sterile processing leaders and Surgery Leadership to ensure safe and adequate staffing patterns. Rounds in sterile processing departments regularly to ensure adherence to standards and assess workflow. Serves on Intra and inter-departmental committees related to sterile processing and infection prevention. Maintains sterilization, safety, and security standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies. Collaborates with Surgery leadership to manage immediate use steam sterilization (IUSS) rates and recommends instrument purchases. Performs routine audits to ensure instrumentation is processed according to manufacturer guidelines and takes corrective action if needed. Establishes and maintains liaison with Operating Room associates, physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other professionals for consultation on product specifications and availability. Maintains liaison with representatives of sterile processing providers and regulatory agencies to stay updated on trends and regulations. Provides consultation and leadership to supervisors, coordinators, and technicians to ensure high customer satisfaction and fiscal responsibility. Ensures appropriate allocation of personnel to meet staffing and scheduling needs and assists in resolving associate relation issues. Participates in corporate supply chain activities and coordinates capital budget with Surgical Services leadership. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
