We are seeking a Director of Specialty Nursing to provide leadership and operational oversight for our specialty nursing and technician teams. This role is ideal for an experienced veterinary professional who is passionate about team development, clinical excellence, and creating an environment where both patients and team members can thrive.

What You'll DoLeadership & Team Development- Provide leadership and support to specialty nursing and technician teams across multiple specialty services.
- Build a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
- Coach team members, support professional growth, and develop future leaders.
- Partner with leadership on performance management, feedback, and employee development.
- Lead team by working alongside them 50% of the time, remaining 50% working on admin projects
Operations & Workflow Management- Oversee daily specialty nursing operations to support safe, efficient patient care.
- Partner with leadership to ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and resource management.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, communication, and operational effectiveness.
- Support department priorities while maintaining a strong focus on patient care.
Training & Clinical Excellence- Lead onboarding and training initiatives for specialty nursing teams.
- Support consistent training practices and competency development.
- Ensure team members have the skills and resources needed to provide high-quality patient care.
- Promote adherence to hospital standards, safety practices, and clinical protocols.
Collaboration & Hospital Leadership- Partner with the Medical Director, Hospital Director, Emergency Nursing Director, and leadership team.
- Participate in leadership discussions and hospital initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to nursing operations, team development, and process improvement.
What You Bring- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential required.
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary specialty or advanced clinical experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Strong understanding of specialty veterinary workflows and patient care operations.
- Experience with veterinary hospital systems, including EzyVet and VetRadar, preferred.
- RECOVER BLS & ALS certification preferred.
- Fear Free certification preferred.
