Summary: The Director of Sales is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive sales strategy to optimize CII profits and customer satisfaction. The Director will monitor sales activities and meet regularly with existing customers. The Director provides leadership to account managers, quoting and material specialists and technical support staff, and ensures compliance with the QMS documentation set. The Director is a member of CII's upper management team and reports to the CEO.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Works with CII leadership to develop goals that support revenue growth, profitability and market diversification.
- Develops implements and monitors the effectiveness of sales strategies and processes.
- Establishes and maintains an accurate sale forecast and ensures new business opportunities align with CII's operational capabilities and strategic objective.
- Supervises the account managers, quoting specialists, the material sourcing specialist and technical support staff. Ensures risk mitigation and quoting processes are completed in time to meet customer established quote deadlines.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and strategic suppliers.
- Identifies opportunities to improve customer experience and service delivery.
- Facilitates costing process by studying drawings, samples, and related customer documents, evaluating labor estimates, equipment and testing needs.
- When a new opportunity is identified, ensures resources can be in place including materials, production staffing, tools and testing capabilities.
- Identifies technical issues of assigned projects to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
- Reviews customer documents such as T&Cs, purchase orders and quality requirement to screen for issues.
- Ensures AS9100 processes meet the requirements of the standard and that sales team members follow the processes.
- Assigns new customers to an Account Manager and provides support during the on-boarding process.
- Participates in production planning activities to ensure customer contract requirements can be met.
- Ensures that the company's ITAR and DPAS flow-down policies and processes meet Federal government requirements and are followed
- Attends industry trade shows, events and lead planned demonstrations of CII's products to increase awareness of CII capabilities.
- Researches market trends, competitors' capabilities and conducts market analysis to ensure the viability of CII's business model.
- Ensures marketing materials and website information is professional, up-to-date and accurate.
- Identifies potential capabilities that lead to increased revenue and profits.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Five+ years working in a Sales Management position preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a contract manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven leadership skills leading a major division of an organization.
- Proven management skills of a diverse workforce.

Physical Requirements:
- Sitting and standing for long periods; occasionally having to walk between factory floors; typing
- Travel by car and plane may be required. Occasional overnight trips.

Working Conditions: Custom Interface's facility is a manufacturing environment where temperature variations exist from opening doors to the outside environment, smoke particulates from soldering and other manufacturing operations frequently occur and there are occasionally noise levels that require hearing protection.
