Job DescriptionPosition Summary: Power Contracting's Director of Safety is responsible for the standardization, implementation and execution of companywide safety programs and initiatives. This position establishes processes and strategies to deliver a positive safety culture and supports for a safe, qualified workforce.
Essential Functions:- Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Recommend improvements to safety programs and program processes
- Develops loss reduction strategies across the division
- Assists with ensuring all safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current
- Build consensus when appropriate, motivate and encourage others
- Communicates well both verbally and in writing (creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations)
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Enforces stop authorization for all operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Reviews accident and incident reports.
Minimum Requirements:- At least five years of occupational health and safety experience in the electric utilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
