Director of Revenue Cycle-Home Health

Job Summary: The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire revenue cycle process. This role involves managing billing, collections, coding, and financial operations to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services provided. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in revenue cycle management, with a focus on home health care regulations, compliance, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the daily operations of the entire revenue cycle process, including patient intake, coding, billing, collections, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue and reduce days in accounts receivable.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensure agency adherence to federal, state, and local regulations related to home health care billing and reimbursement. Stay current with industry changes and updates to maintain compliance and avoid penalties.
  • Financial Reporting: Advises senior management of issues which may affect billing, reimbursement, cash flow, etc. Partners with team to resolve identified issues. Implements budgeting and accounting systems to oversee fiscal affairs of the agency. Prepares reports to analyze billing and AR. Manages month-end closing reports, as well as annual operations reporting and agency evaluation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of revenue cycle professionals, including billing specialists, coders, and collections staff. Provide training and support to ensure team members are well-versed in procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and establishes and implements benchmarks to develop strategies for improvement. Leverage technology and automation to streamline operations.
  • Patient and Provider Relations: Work with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and address inquiries. Ensure clear communication and provide excellent customer service.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of revenue cycle processes and support overall organizational goals.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare billing/AR.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in home healthcare management preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing revenue cycle, billing, and accounts receivable departments.
  • Proficient level experience in Homecare Homebase (HCHB).
  • Strong fiscal management experience in Medicare home healthcare (preferably at the multi-site level).
  • In-depth knowledge of different billing methodologies:
    • PDGM revenue cycle
    • Fee for service
    • Review Choice Demonstration/PCR
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS classification systems. Knowledge of UB04 and HMO billing; all associated fields for billing purposes.
  • Strong working knowledge of revenue cycle management systems; ability to manage multiple revenue cycle management systems for the agency.
  • In-depth knowledge of home health care billing and reimbursement practices.
  • Proficient level experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
