Job Description

What you will be doing

Albertsons Companies is building an end-to-end AI-powered ordering platform that transforms fragmented demand, inventory, inbound, and supply signals into one trusted ordering recommendation. This platform will help Replenishment Buyers and Supply Planning teams move from manual, fragmented decision-making to AI-assisted and agent-driven workflows that improve service while controlling working capital.

We are seeking a Director of Replenishment & Supply Planning to lead the Supply Planning and Replenishment product strategy from our Pleasanton, CA office. This leader will own the roadmap for replenishment buyer decisioning, inbound visibility, warehouse operations integration, and agentic actions that improve OTIF, inventory productivity, and DC execution.

This is a highly cross-functional US-based leadership role working closely with Replenishment Buyers, Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing, Data Science, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and GCC delivery teams.

Position Purpose:

As the Director of Replenishment & Supply Planning, you will define and deliver the Supply Planning portion of the End-to-End Ordering Platform. You will lead the integration of supplier constraints, inbound visibility, warehouse receiving signals, inventory availability, PO recommendations, and demand forecasts into a unified decisioning system powered by AI, semantic data layers, and agent-based workflows.

This role is critical to helping Replenishment Buyers make the right decisions at the right time across POs, suppliers, inbound risk, inventory, and working capital. The goal is to improve OTIF and DC productivity while minimizing excess inventory, aged exposure, and manual intervention.

A key responsibility of this role will be creating the product roadmap for inbound visibility capabilities, including ASN visibility, dock detention reduction, appointment and dwell insights, supplier/DC flow visibility, and exception management features that connect upstream supply risk to downstream ordering decisions.

If you are looking to play a part in a major Supply Chain transformation that will revolutionize online grocery shopping, Come join us!

Main responsibilities:
  • Lead Supply Planning Product Strategy: Define and drive the vision for the Supply Planning and Replenishment capabilities within the End-to-End Ordering Platform, connecting supplier, inbound, DC, inventory, and ordering signals into one scalable operating model.
  • Enable Replenishment Buyer Decisioning: Build AI-assisted and agentic workflows that help buyers evaluate PO recommendations, supplier constraints, inbound risk, lead times, order multiples, inventory availability, and working-capital trade-offs.
  • Build the Inbound Visibility Roadmap: Own product strategy for ASN visibility, inbound exception tracking, appointment performance, dock detention reduction, dwell-time insights, supplier performance, and DC receiving constraints.
  • Partner Closely with Warehouse Operations: Work directly with warehouse operators and DC leaders to understand receiving bottlenecks, dock constraints, inventory flow gaps, and operational pain points that must be translated into product capabilities.
  • Connect Replenishment, Manufacturing, and DC Execution: Extend supply planning and inbound visibility capabilities into manufacturing-related flows, including raw material availability, production inputs, finished goods readiness, and DC-to-manufacturing dependencies.
  • Drive Data Modernization for Supply Planning: Partner with AI, Data, and GCC teams to define ontology, knowledge graph, semantic layer, event models, and trusted metrics that power explainable supply planning decisions and agentic workflows.
  • Improve OTIF and Working Capital Outcomes: Prioritize capabilities that improve service reliability, reduce avoidable shortages, improve inventory productivity, reduce excess inventory, and help the business achieve higher OTIF with the lowest practical working capital.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Product Execution: Partner across Supply Chain, Replenishment, Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing, Data Science, Engineering, Architecture, and GCC delivery teams to align roadmap, execution, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Build and Mentor Product Talent: Lead and develop Principal PM, Sr. PM, PM, and AI Data PM talent supporting Replenishment, Supply Planning, data modernization, and AI-enabled ordering capabilities.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 12 plus years of experience in Product Management, Supply Chain, Replenishment, Planning, or related leadership roles.
  • Deep experience in Replenishment, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations, or retail supply chain execution.
  • Experience leading complex enterprise product roadmaps from strategy through execution and adoption.
  • Strong understanding of inbound supply chain flows, purchase orders, supplier constraints, DC receiving, inventory availability, and service metrics.
  • Experience partnering with Data Science, Engineering, and Data Platform teams to build AI/ML-enabled or analytics-driven products.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to spend meaningful time with Replenishment Buyers, Warehouse Operations, and field teams to understand operating reality and translate it into product requirements.

Highly Desirable:
  • Experience with Blue Yonder (JDA), ERP, WMS, TMS, inbound visibility, or retail replenishment systems.
  • Experience building AI-driven, GenAI-enabled, or agent-based decisioning systems.
  • Experience with inbound visibility capabilities such as ASN quality, dock scheduling, detention reduction, dwell-time analytics, supplier performance, and exception management.
  • Experience with data modernization concepts such as semantic layer, ontology, knowledge graph, data lineage, governed metrics, and reusable decision APIs.
  • Experience in grocery, retail, CPG, manufacturing, distribution, or high-volume supply chain environments.

Additional Skills:
  • Strong systems thinker who can connect operational workflows, data products, and AI-enabled decisioning into one coherent platform roadmap.
  • Ability to influence senior business, operations, and technology stakeholders without relying solely on authority.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and converting broad transformation goals into sequenced product releases.
  • Strong bias toward measurable business outcomes, including OTIF, fill rate, inventory productivity, DC productivity, and working capital efficiency.
  • Effective leader across distributed teams, including US business partners and GCC product, data, and engineering teams.

What Success Looks Like:
  • A clear and adopted Supply Planning product roadmap for the End-to-End Ordering Platform.
  • Replenishment Buyers supported by AI-assisted and agentic workflows for PO, supplier, inbound-risk, and inventory decisions.
  • Improved inbound visibility across ASN accuracy, exceptions, appointment performance, dock detention, dwell time, and DC receiving constraints.
  • A stronger connection between warehouse operations, manufacturing inputs, replenishment actions, and working-capital outcomes.
  • Measurable progress against OTIF, inventory productivity, manual intervention reduction, and decision explainability.
