Job Description:

The Director of Recruitment and Admissions provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Northland Community and Technical College's recruitment, admissions, front desk operations, and new student enrollment experience. This college-wide leadership position is responsible for directing recruitment and admissions strategies, supervising student-facing enrollment staff, and leading initiatives that support enrollment growth and student success.

The Director serves as a key leader in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Northland's Strategic Enrollment Framework, ensuring alignment between recruitment, admissions, marketing, communications, and student support efforts. This position oversees enrollment processes, the strategic use of customer relationship management (CRM) technology, enrollment communications, recruitment events, campus visits, and new student onboarding initiatives, along with front-line service operations to deliver a seamless and student-centered experience.

As a working supervisor, the Director actively participates in recruitment, admissions, enrollment events, and strategic enrollment initiatives while providing leadership, coaching, and operational direction to recruitment, admissions, and front desk teams. The position utilizes data, technology, and best practices to improve enrollment outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and support the college's enrollment and workforce development goals.
  • Customer Service
  • Provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for college-wide recruitment, admissions, enrollment services, and student-facing customer experience initiatives
  • Lead, supervise, and direct student-facing personnel, including recruitment, admissions, front desk, and enrollment communication staff
  • Support campus and college operations, student engagement initiatives, and long-term enrollment planning
  • Lead the development and oversight of enrollment tracking, reporting, forecasting, and performance analytics for areas of supervision


Salary Range:

34.71 - 52.18 USD Hourly

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of experience in recruitment and/or admissions. A Master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience; Associate's degree may substitute for six months of experience.
  • Previous supervisory, lead worker, or leadership experience required.
  • Experience with recruitment and/or admissions.
  • Knowledge in strategic enrollment management and planning within higher education.
  • Knowledge of customer relationships management (CRM) software.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to prioritize work duties and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of computer spread sheets, presentation software and project management software sufficient to complete duties and manage department work flow.
  • Customer service skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a timely, thorough, courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Ability to travel.

Preferred Qualification
  • Knowledge of College policies, programs and curriculum, sufficient to write College documents.
  • Public speaking experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a collective bargaining environment.
  • Master's degree.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable bargaining unit agreement or personnel plan.
