Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remaining current on all pertinent FARs, Specifications, and Airworthiness Directives (AD) for the articles and appliances for which the Repair Station is rated.
- AD's will be furnished in the work package by the air carrier and reviewed by the planning department. Assuring that all FAA approved technical data (AD's, Service Bulletins (SB's) etc.) is accomplished in accordance with customer requests.
- Interfacing and coordinating with the FAA and customer audits.
- Assuring that all tools and test equipment requiring calibration are calibrated to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
- Keeping current personnel rosters, internal and vendor audits, and stamp lists.
- Writing and submitting all revisions of the RSM, Capability List, defects of non-airworthy conditions (Malfunction or Defect Report FAA Form 8010-4), Major Repair and Alteration FAA Form 337, Suspected Unapproved Parts Notification FAA Form 8120-11.
- Assuring that all inspections (Receiving Inspection, Preliminary Inspection, Hidden Damage, and Final Inspection) are properly performed on all completed work and that the proper inspection records and forms are completed prior to releasing the product or article for return to service.
- In the event of suspect certification or documentation, the Chief Inspector will determine the serviceability/airworthiness of all incoming articles.
- Determining the airworthiness of all articles on which work has been performed outside of the Repair Station through a contract with the Repair Station ("Subcontract Work").
- Determining that no defective, unserviceable, or non-airworthy part or parts are installed in any article or articles released by the Repair Station.
- Assisting, supervising, training, and directing all personnel assigned to the Inspection Department as per the training manual.
- May delegate all duties assigned to a qualified assistant as necessary, however such delegation does not relieve the overall responsibility.

Education and Experience:
- A & P License Required.
- Bachelor's degree in quality Control / Assurance or related field desired.
- High School Diploma required.
- A minimum of 10 years of previous experience in the airline industry is required.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and function as a member of the team.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be efficient with a desire to succeed.
- Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work product.
- Must have at least 18 months of documented Quality Assurance experience via training and employment history.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Must be proficient in computer programs such as Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs.

Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, crawl, work in tight spaces, and handle objects.
- The employee is occasionally required to push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level, or carry light-weight materials.
- Must be able to use hands and arms for repetitive movements, such as movement of wrists, hands, and fingers while typing.
- May occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
