Director of Quality Assurance & Staff Development
Full-Time | Exempt | Leadership Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Quality Assurance & Staff Development to lead the facility's Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA/QAPI) program and oversee staff education and development. This role is critical to regulatory compliance, survey readiness, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across all departments.
This position is ideal for a healthcare leader who is analytical, organized, and committed to building strong systems and well-trained teams.
Responsibilities
• Plan, develop, and direct the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
• Chair and lead the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee
• Track, analyze, and trend quality indicators, audits, incidents, and outcomes
• Develop and implement corrective action plans for identified deficiencies
• Support survey readiness, surveys, and plans of correction
• Coordinate and oversee staff education, orientation, and ongoing in-service training
• Maintain training records and compliance documentation
• Partner with leadership to identify risk areas and improvement opportunities
• Assist with policy review, regulatory updates, and compliance monitoring
• Participate in facility surveys, audits, and inspections
• Prepare and present written and verbal quality reports to Administration
Qualifications
• Licensed RN preferred or equivalent healthcare leadership experience
• Prior quality assurance, staff development, or regulatory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to lead committees, training programs, and performance improvement initiatives
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
