Full Job Description
SUMMARY: The Director of Purchasing is responsible for aggressively driving Property-wide supply management cost savings through strategic sourcing processes. This position will ensure that Procurement is aligned with the strategic objectives of the properties and utilizes industry-leading strategies and technologies to deliver world class results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for overseeing the annual procurement of each property's spending for goods, services and capital projects.
  2. Identifies and executes sourcing plans to meet cost saving targets in each spend category that yield measurable year-over-year reduction in cost of purchased goods and services.
  3. Monitors, analyzes and assesses pricing and delivery costs of purchased commodities and services for impacts on the business unit spend and sourcing strategies.
  4. Participates in the fiscal planning and goal setting for the Company linking strategic plans to the Company's vision and prioritizing property-wide efforts to implement strategies.

  6. Advocates cultural change and leads senior property executives thinking in procurement best practice trends, benchmarking efforts, and process improvement implementation.
  7. Develops, implements and enforces procurement policies and manages critical issues arising from procurement initiatives. Also interacts with internal auditors on procurement matters.
  8. Deploys process solutions to accomplish departmental goals and measures adherence to these systems and processes for compliance.
  9. Acts as Process Owner of the Requisition-to-Pay process, ensuring that requisitions receive "best-value" goods and services in a timely manner and suppliers are paid according to Company terms.
  10. Measures process performance and develops continuous improvement plans.
  11. Develops a framework for evaluating supplier performance and compliance with contract terms.
  12. Builds, trains and mentors a high performing team of procurement professionals. Creates a strategic organizational and staffing model to ensure effective organizational performance and customer satisfaction. Routinely provides performance feedback while identifying current training gaps and future training needs. Develops plans to address departmental skill shortages and gaps.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees the Purchasing department, with responsibilities including hiring and training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required. MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.

Eight or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, with increasing levels of responsibility and supervision.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess and be able to maintain the applicable regional Gaming card(s) and/or License(s), if any.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Must be able to read and write simple lists, interoffice memorandums, and business correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Products Office Suite.
