Director of Power Operations

Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead power projects from initial planning through construction, testing, commissioning, and final turnover.
Understand and oversee each step of the technical process, including site assessment, engineering review, estimating, permitting, procurement, scheduling, construction, quality control, energization, and closeout.
Build project execution plans and coordinate engineering, procurement, field crews, subcontractors, utility representatives, and customers.
Review drawings, scopes of work, technical specifications, construction methods, and project requirements before work begins.
Identify technical risks, constructability issues, resource needs, and scheduling conflicts early in the process.
Ensure field teams have the labor, equipment, materials, permits, and technical information needed to perform the work.
Monitor project progress, productivity, safety, quality, cost, and schedule, and take corrective action when needed.
Identify and pursue new opportunities within the power and utility market.
Build strong relationships with utilities, developers, EPC contractors, engineering firms, and other industry partners.
Meet with clients to understand upcoming projects, technical needs, budgets, and timelines.
Work with estimating and operations teams to develop scopes, pricing, schedules, and technical proposals.
Participate in bids, RFPs, contract discussions, presentations, and negotiations.
Evaluate opportunities based on technical feasibility, operational capacity, risk, margin, and strategic fit.
Maintain visibility into the sales pipeline and support the transition of awarded work from business development into operations.
Grow existing accounts by delivering strong results and identifying additional services or project opportunities.
Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and strategic partnership discussions.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience leading large-scale Distribution, Transmission, Substation, or utility infrastructure projects;
Demonstrated experience managing construction operations, field organizations and multiple concurrent projects;
Experience leading Project Managers, Construction Managers, and field leadership teams;
