Director of Organizational Development & Effectiveness

TheDirector of Organizational Development & Effectiveness leads the strategicplanning and delivery of a comprehensive organizational development andtraining program to support employee performance, DEI, and institutionalgrowth. TheDirector of Organizational Development & Effectiveness isresponsible for initiatives that include compliance, supervision, leadership,and professional upskilling. The Director of Organizational Development & Effectiveness oversees college-wide training and professional development bycurating resources, guiding the professional development fund process, andensuring access through the College's learning management platform inpartnership with external vendors. The Director of Organizational Development & Effectiveness works closely with subjectmatter experts to align development initiatives with the College's mission andevolving needs. The Director of Organizational Development & Effectiveness willalso collaborate with college stakeholders to assess the need for, and leadefforts that strengthen institutional culture via training on DEI-relatedtopics that advance student success, reduce barriers, support employeedevelopment, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of theinstitutional mission and the strategic plan, while maintaining compliance withapplicable laws.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive organizational development strategy that strengthens leadership capacity, staff development, performance systems, and institutional culture.

Build frameworks and learning pathways that promote change management, leadership development, and continuous improvement.

Identify and assess current and future organizational development needs through process analysis and collaboration with senior leadership to support College objectives.

Ensure compliance with Board policies and state and federal laws through targeted training and development efforts.

Lead the development of training, professional learning, programming, and initiatives that strengthen awareness, cultural competence, and equity minded practices across the institution.

Partner with leaders, managers, the Division of Teaching & Learning, and other stakeholders to create and coordinate a centralized training model to provide the strongest development programs while efficiently utilizing resources.

Deliver college-wide professional development resources, workshops, and training opportunities to enhance employee skills and performance.

Develop appropriate metrics and tracking tools to evaluate overall leadership effectiveness and the impact of individual programs.

Plan, design, and implement initiatives focused on workplace improvement, including leadership development, coaching, training, surveys, feedback tools, and team-building activities.

Provide strategic and visionary oversight of the Learning Management platform; collaborates directly with the platform and content vendor to deliver comprehensive and accessible on-demand trainings to ensure alignment with institutional needs.

Participate as an active and contributing member of the Human Resources team to support departmental and institutional goals.

Supervises team members and/or technical/staff. Hire, evaluate, and train staff as necessary.

Direct the collection and review of data and the preparation of reports, statements, and communications.

Oversees budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting activities for the department.

Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree required.

Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in employee development, preferably within education.

Four (4) years of high-level supervisory experience required.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications required.

Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Excellent project management skills required.

Must possess strong problem-solving abilities.

Must have ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance principles and practices.

Knowledge and application of various instructional methodologies.

Skill in people leadership and supervision.
