Director of Operations to serve as the operational leader of one of the region's premier full-service historic hotels. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this key executive leader is responsible for driving operational excellence across all departments, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maximizing financial performance and associate engagement.
The Director of Operations provides strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of
Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, and other operational departments, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This individual partners closely with department leaders to elevate service standards, improve operational efficiencies, develop high-performing teams, and achieve budgeted financial goals.
What You'll Do - Lead the daily operations of a full-service hotel, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction across all departments.
- Inspire, coach, and develop department leaders while building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.
- Drive operational performance through strategic planning, revenue optimization, labor management, and expense control.
- Monitor key performance metrics, implement action plans, and continuously improve guest satisfaction scores and financial results.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, sanitation requirements, and company policies.
- Partner with the General Manager on budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and operational initiatives.
- Build strong relationships within the Gettysburg community, representing the hotel with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders.
- Champion associate engagement and professional development while creating an exceptional workplace culture.
Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel operations leadership experience in a full-service hotel.
- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing both Rooms Operations and Food & Beverage.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, labor costs, forecasting, and operational performance.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional guest service.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
- A strong desire to advance into a General Manager role.
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check
