ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Director of Operations - US Territory to lead and scale all league operations across the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to oversee market performance, operational execution, and team development across Brodie's growing US footprint. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be responsible for ensuring every market consistently delivers the athlete experience that defines the Brodie brand.

Based out of our Toronto HQ, you will lead a growing team of District Managers and League Managers while building the systems, processes, and operational infrastructure needed to support rapid expansion. From league operations and athlete experience initiatives to referee development and market readiness, you will play a key leadership role in shaping and scaling Brodie's U.S. operations.

We currently operate in three US cities with ambitious plans for expansion. Your mandate will be to optimize performance in existing markets while helping build the operational foundation required to support growth to 50 locations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

US Operations Ownership
  • Own all league operations across the United States, including game-night execution, scheduling, league administration, athlete experience, and venue operations
  • Lead, develop, and performance manage a growing team of District Managers and League Managers across multiple markets
  • Establish and maintain operational standards, playbooks, and systems that create a consistent athlete experience across all locations
  • Own the financial performance of US operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and revenue optimization

Referee & Coach Program
  • Build and oversee Brodie's referee and coach development program, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance standards
  • Develop sustainable talent pipelines that support future market expansion and reduce reliance on external recruiting sources

Athlete Experience Initiatives
  • Lead athlete experience initiatives including drop-in programming, trial experiences, membership conversion programs, and community engagement initiatives
  • Partner closely with Brand, Marketing, and Community teams to ensure operational excellence across all athlete-facing programs
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing scalable solutions

Scaling & Growth Readiness
  • Ensure operational readiness across all existing markets while preparing systems, staffing models, and processes for future expansion
  • Partner with the growth team to support new market launches through workforce planning, operational setup, training, and execution

Cross-Functional Execution
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans with clear timelines, ownership, and measurable outcomes
  • Provide proactive communication and reporting to leadership regarding operational performance, opportunities, and challenges

REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience leading multi-location operations teams within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing senior staff and developing high-performing operational teams
  • Experience owning budgets, forecasting, and making data-driven operational decisions
  • Strong track record of building systems, processes, and infrastructure that support organizational growth
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, reporting, and operational effectiveness
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and execution skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to evaluate performance and drive business decisions
  • Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities and significant ownership
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within retail, hospitality, fitness, franchise, events, or other multi-unit operating environments
  • 5 days in office at our Toronto HQ - Brodie has thrived due to a culture of collaboration and teamwork in office

COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE

The expected annual compensation range for this role is between $125,000 to $175,000 CAD. Compensation is based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. The compensation range may be adjusted in the future.
