Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all manufacturing and operational activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Lead all aspects of production operations, including workforce planning, procurement, inventory management, capacity planning, manufacturing processes, yield improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, procedures, and performance standards to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement structured planning and scheduling processes that optimize resources and ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations consistently achieve production, quality, and delivery targets while operating within established cost parameters.
  • Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Continuous Improvement & Change Management
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles, productivity metrics, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Work cross functionally on initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce waste, increase throughput, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Identify root causes of operational variances and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Champion operational change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new systems, processes, and best practices.

Operational Excellence & Quality
  • Ensure products are manufactured to established quality standards and delivered on time to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO requirements and support all internal and external audits, corrective actions, and employee training initiatives.
  • Partner with Quality and lead Manufacturing Engineering teams to drive process capability, product quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead preventive maintenance strategies that maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and manufacturing performance.

Safety & Environmental Leadership
  • Foster a culture where safety is a core organizational value.
  • Partner with EHS Leader to develop and implement proactive safety, ergonomic, and risk-reduction programs to prevent workplace injuries and incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through employee engagement, training, and accountability.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management
  • Partner with Supply Chain leadership to optimize sourcing strategies, inventory performance, supplier relationships, and material flow.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices that improve working capital performance while maintaining service levels.
  • Drive improvements in ERP utilization and system functionality to support operational efficiency and informed decision-making.

Financial & Strategic Management
  • Lead the development and execution of Annual Operating Plans, operating budgets, and strategic initiatives.
  • Assume overall accountability for manufacturing profitability, cost performance, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and justify capital investments that support capacity expansion, process improvements, safety enhancements, and strategic growth.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and operational infrastructure support both current business requirements and future growth objectives.

Leadership & Talent Development
  • Serve as the Site Leader for the Middleboro, MA site including oversight and engagement of the IH&S and IDEX MPT (Materials Processing Technologies) teams. While this role has direct accountability for the IH&S Operations at the site, this leader will also indirectly oversee the MPT teams at the site and partner with the MPT Leadership team on site related needs and activities for that business.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct and indirect team members to maximize engagement, performance, and career growth.
  • Build high-performing teams through effective recruitment, onboarding, training, succession planning, and talent development practices.
  • Maintain clear accountability and performance expectations across all operational functions.
  • Lead the site through all elements of the IDEX Operating Model, including Daily Management, Goal Deployment, Monthly Business Reviews, 80/20 Focus, and the Organization & Talent Cycle.
  • Collaborate effectively across functions to foster alignment, teamwork, and business success.


Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience, including leadership of multiple operational functions.
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements, productivity gains, quality enhancements, and cost reductions.
  • Experience leading teams through organizational change and operational transformation.

Preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Engineering, Operations, or related field).
  • Lean Certification, Six Sigma Certification, or equivalent continuous improvement credentials.
  • Experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading ERP optimization and business system improvement initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing planning tools.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
  • Highly effective communicator with exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict, build relationships, and lead high-performing teams.


Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $112,700.00 - $169,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
