Job Description

The Director of Operations oversees all day-to-day manufacturing activities within the aerospace production facility. This role functions as the daily operations leader and directs the activities of a multi-functional production team in pursuit of world class manufacturing as measured by Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Inventory Management and EBIT performance. The Director of Operations is responsible for the management, direction, and coordination of the manufacturing operation for the Wickliffe and Eastlake plants and ensuring operational excellence, compliance and continuous improvement across the plant. The Director of Operations will develop strategies to achieve operational objectives for daily, weekly, quarterly and annual metrics. The Director of Operations leads cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations, achieve financial targets, and maintain the highest standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides strategic and hands on leadership for all plant operations, including production, facility maintenance and logistics.
  • Develop and execute operational plans that support company goals for safety, quality, delivery and EBIT.
  • Optimize resource allocation and labor utilization to achieve cost-reduction targets.
  • Ensure the plant meets or exceeds KPI's related to throughput, productivity and on-time delivery.
  • Oversee scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow optimization to support aerospace requirements, customer specifications and delivery commitments.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational efficiency.
  • Establishes and executes annual operating budget for the plant. Responsible to make or beat the budget. Takes appropriate action to correct deviations from budgets or operating plans.
  • Ensure operations is in strict adherence to AS9100, ISO, ITAR and all other applicable aerospace and regulatory standards.
  • Drive a culture of accountability and zero-defect manufacturing.
  • Maintains and enhances a team environment and motivates the workforce.
  • Works closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality and Executive Leadership to align operational performance with overall business goals.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or other engineering related curriculum. Extensive training in manufacturing, accounting, manufacturing processes leadership, group motivation and behavior. Master's degree desired.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability.
  • Successful experience in related production operations with a minimum 10 years in supervision and management.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ITAR and aerospace quality standards. Aerospace experience strongly desired.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and philosophies, TOC, Six Sigma and problem solving.
  • Hands-on, take charge attitude with a forward thinking mindset.
  • Must be self-driven and able to hold oneself and others accountable.
  • Demonstrated ability in motivating groups toward common goals and managing the successful completion of multiple tasks simultaneously.
