Our ideal Director of Operations will be a key driver of execution across fabrication, construction, and manufacturing projects at High Purity Systems. This person will bring consistency to how work gets done and protect profitability through disciplined operations. They'll help ensure projects move forward smoothly and the business continues scaling the right way. This is a highly visible role with real influence on strong outcomes and company growth.
RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership- Lead operational execution across construction, fabrication, manufacturing, and special projects.
- Support strategic execution of company vision through process improvement and scalable structure.
- Reinforce a safety-first, quality-driven culture as the standard.
- Drive EOS® rhythms including L10s, Rocks, and issue-solving across the organization.
- Collaborate closely across departments to keep teams aligned, informed, and moving forward.
- Encourage ideas and feedback from team members for creative and innovative operational improvements and evaluate suggestions for implementation.
Management- Manage team schedules once projects are awarded and coordinate resourcing across active work.
- Monitor production and performance metrics to keep the operation on track and in the black.
- Oversee change management including scope creep, change orders, and margin protection.
- Ensure project turnover documentation is accurate, complete, and delivered professionally to customers.
- Maintain operational processes and standards that teams follow consistently.
- Stay connected to technical expertise-knowing where answers live and who to lean on.
- Develop people, strengthen teams, and create clear expectations across the workforce.
Accountability- Own safety, quality, and compliance across project execution and daily operations.
- Manage financial performance including budgeting, cost control, and operational accountability.
- Protect customer trust by setting expectations and addressing concerns with urgency and professionalism.
- Monitor workforce rules and regulations, including collective bargaining requirements, with discipline.
- Drive consistent follow-through, solving issues quickly and preventing repeat breakdowns.
- Promote structure and measurable operations, not reactive or chaotic.
** This is a full-time, in person position located in Manassas, Virginia. We are seeking candidates who see both the professional opportunity and a personal connection or motivation for living in this area. ** QUALIFICATIONSRequired- Background in Mechanical Construction or Fabrication environments (exp. Machinist, HVAC technician, Mechanical Insulator, Mechanical Engineer etc....)
- A minimum of three years senior-level, cross-functional operations leadership experience
- Divisional operational leadership experience
- Experience managing a $30M budget and overseeing cost control
- Proven project management experience with scope control and change management success
- Experience managing teams with 10+ direct reports
Preferred - Experience managing multiple divisions simultaneously
- Experience managing a $50M budget with cost control across multiple divisions
- Pipe or process piping fabrication experience
- Experience with unions and collective bargaining agreements
Desired - Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS®) experience
- OSHA certification
- Process improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9001)
- Experience managing union employees
SALARY: $175,000-$225,000 base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.
