Our small hospice company is looking for a passion driven nursing leader to help deliver exeptional hospice care to the community.

As the Director of Nursing you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, delivery, and supervision of direct clinical services provided to clients and families. This position reports to the General Manager.

The Director of Nursing for Auburn Crest Hospice is responsible for:
  • Providing supervision of the Hospice Clinical Staff including RN Case Managers, LPNs, CNAs, Chaplains, and MSWs ensuring that best practices are delivered throughout the patient and family hospice experience
  • Overseeing the IDT process leading all disciplines to ensure quality care coordination
  • Promoting a culture of compliance
  • Mentoring and training new and existing team members
  • Overseeing the QAPI program to ensure accuracy and regulatory fulfillment of timely documentation
  • Evaluating all referrals to ensure appropriate admissions for hospice
  • Managing client concerns to achieve maximum patient and family satisfaction
  • Coordinating and managing contracted agencies and services
  • Maintaining a positive work environment for all team members
  • Leading the team to excel at the ultimate goal of patient and family satisfaction


Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business, or other related field, preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing management experience, preferably in a Home Health/Hospice setting within the past five (5) years.
  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing a plus but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.


Other Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding and acceptance of hospice philosophy.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in administrative performance, including expertise in both written and oral communication, supervision of staff, documentation requirements, service coordination, case management, and supportive, sensitive approach in response to needs of staff and client/family.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation (COP) and Interpretive Guidelines, Medicaid, state, and Joint Commission requirements.


Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Duties are performed in an office and clinical environment and require sufficient personal mobility and physical capability to permit employee to function in this environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
  • May be required to work irregular hours including evening and weekend availability.
  • Occasional travel required.
