Director of Nursing - Surgical Services (Operating Room) Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Director of Nursing provides
24-hour leadership responsibility for assigned perioperative departments and ensures excellence in
clinical quality, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial performance.
Surgical Services Program Highlights - 7 Main Operating Rooms + 2 GI Procedure Suites
- 3 da Vinci XI robotic systems
- Nationally recognized master surgeons who proctor across the U.S.
- 600+ surgical cases per month (highest volume in the Lovelace system)
- Oversight of:
- Operating Room (OR)
- GI
- PACU
- Pre-Op
- Pre-Admission Testing Clinic
- Leadership of ~100 clinical and support staff
- Key specialties: GYN, urogynecology, urology, orthopedics, general surgery
Key Responsibilities - Provide 24-hour accountability for assigned perioperative departments in alignment with organizational mission and vision
- Direct overall clinical, administrative, and financial operations of Surgical Services
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff
- Monitor and improve quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and employee engagement
- Act as a change agent, driving innovation and continuous improvement
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with surgeons and medical staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies
QualificationsRequired - Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
- If BSN not completed, must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program with scheduled completion
- Active RN license (or license acceptable to the applicable State Board of Nursing)
- BLS certification within 14 days of hire (prior to direct patient care)
- Minimum 5-7 years of clinical nursing experience
- Minimum 3-5 years in nursing leadership / management
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking, judgment, and ability to work independently
Preferred - Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration
