Director of Nursing

Florida Kidney Physicians (FKP) - Brandon Surgery Center

Brandon, FL | Full-Time | Monday-Friday | No Nights, Weekends, or Major Holidays

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing provides clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for the surgery center's nursing services. This individual is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, infection prevention, quality improvement, and staff engagement.

The Director partners closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and administrative leadership to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes and continued operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Clinical Leadership
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight for nursing and clinical operations.
  • Foster a culture centered on patient safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional patient care throughout the surgical experience.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff.


Operations Management
  • Oversee daily surgery center operations to maximize efficiency and patient flow.
  • Manage staffing schedules, productivity, and clinical resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership to optimize workflow and operational performance.
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives.


Regulatory & Quality
  • Ensure compliance with AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, state licensing requirements, and all regulatory standards.
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
  • Oversee infection prevention initiatives and risk management activities.
  • Monitor clinical quality metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys.


Staff Leadership
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing clinical staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Promote employee engagement and professional development.
  • Lead staff meetings, education initiatives, and competency assessments.


Financial & Administrative Oversight
  • Assist with budgeting and expense management.
  • Monitor supply utilization and inventory management.
  • Partner with leadership to achieve financial and operational goals while maintaining exceptional patient care.


Qualifications

Required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), surgical services, procedural center, or operating room setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS, AAAHC, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.


Preferred
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • CNOR or other relevant specialty certification.
  • Experience in vascular surgery, interventional radiology, dialysis access, or outpatient procedural services.
  • Experience managing quality improvement and accreditation surveys.
