Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team. As the clinical leader of our
242-bed skilled nursing facility, you will oversee nursing operations for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care while fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing services and clinical operations.
- Direct, organize, and evaluate resident care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, audits, and corrective action plans.
- Maintain survey readiness and support successful Department of Health surveys.
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing leaders and staff while promoting accountability and professional growth.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure exceptional resident outcomes.
- Oversee and partner with two Assistant Directors of Nursing (ADONs) to support daily clinical operations.
- Promote a positive, resident-centered culture focused on quality care and customer service.
Qualifications- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in geriatric or long-term care nursing.
- At least two (2) years of progressive nursing leadership or nursing administration experience.
- Experience with New York State Department of Health surveys and regulatory compliance preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
