Location: 130 Calo Lane, Lake Ozark, MOSalary: $95,000 - $105,000 per yearSchedule: Full-Time | On-Site | M-F 8-5, Flexible Based on Program Needs

 

Calo Programs is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead and elevate healthcare services across our nationally recognized trauma-informed residential treatment programs in Lake Ozark, Missouri.

 

This role serves as the clinical nursing leader responsible for guiding nursing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting a high-performing team, and delivering exceptional healthcare services to adolescents healing from developmental trauma. You'll work alongside executive leadership, psychiatry, clinical teams, and residential staff to create an environment where students can thrive physically, emotionally, and relationally.

Responsibilities

Lead Nursing Operations

• Direct daily nursing and health services operations across the program
• Coach, develop, and support nursing team members
• Create staffing schedules and ensure appropriate nursing coverage
• Partner with leadership to recruit, onboard, and retain nursing talent
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence

Ensure Safe, High-Quality Care

• Oversee medication management systems and nursing protocols
• Ensure students' healthcare needs are addressed safely and promptly
• Monitor infection prevention practices and health services procedures
• Review audits, documentation, medical records, and compliance standards
• Support health education initiatives and wellness programming

Collaborate Across the Organization

• Partner with psychiatry, therapy, residential, and executive teams
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and healthcare providers
• Participate in leadership meetings and organizational planning
• Help create integrated treatment approaches that support whole-person healing
• Ensure effective communication regarding student health needs and medical services

Drive Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards and state regulations
• Develop, evaluate, and improve nursing policies and procedures
• Monitor healthcare budgets, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and healthcare audits
• Support data-informed decision-making and operational excellence

Clinical Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license eligible to practice in Missouri
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or related healthcare field
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
• Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, infection prevention, and medication management
• Experience working in behavioral health, adolescent health, residential treatment, or similar healthcare settings preferred

Additional Requirements

• Ability to successfully pass background screenings
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to meet physical requirements associated with supporting a residential treatment environment
