Director of Nursing (DON)Complete Care at Whispering Woods | Edison, NJThe Director of Nursing will provide clinical leadership, support nursing staff, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a culture centered on resident safety, dignity, and quality of care.
Responsibilities for Director of Nursing (DON):- Oversee the day-to-day nursing operations and clinical services
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff while promoting accountability and teamwork
- Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and individualized care
- Monitor clinical practices, documentation, medication management, and resident outcomes
- Coordinate with physicians, families, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers
- Assist with assessments, care planning, and changes in resident condition
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, policies, and quality standards
- Participate in surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Manage staffing needs and help maintain appropriate nursing coverage
- Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and urgency
Qualifications for Director of Nursing (DON):- Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Assisted living, long-term care, post-acute, or similar senior care experience required.
- Strong knowledge of clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and resident care
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Compassionate, hands-on leadership approach
