Job Summary:Assists CNO and CEO in planning, organizing and directing the facility programs and performs related work as assigned. Responsible for implementing performance improvement program and providing oversight of regulatory and compliance issues. Responsible for coordinating, planning and evaluating services in area of responsibility and utilizing participative management skills. Facilitates the delivery of quality patient care throughout patient care areas. Contributes to the Nursing department and hospital through support of the philosophy and objectives of professional psychiatric unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Participates in the formulation and revision of policies and procedures related to overall facility operations.
- Effectively directs and manages all inpatient program staff.
- Oversees the day to day operation of the inpatient program.
- Handles complaints quickly, accurately, and objectively.
- Assists with the financial operations of the facility including budget.
- Ensures the Hospital CEO is kept abreast of the overall operations of the program, including the financial status.
- Meets with other leaders in the mental health field to develop alliances and work partnerships.
- Maintains the program in compliance with State, Local, and Federal Regulations.
- Prioritizes projects to ensure the financial viability of the program.
- Keeps current on changes on the mental health field and attends conferences pertinent to mental health and health care management.
- Maintains records on Leadership Meetings as well as other departmental meetings.
- Maintains ongoing relationships with the medical community for purposes of determining and meeting psychiatric healthcare needs.
- Coordinates health education and screening programs for the hospital.
- Meets with physicians and referral sources on a regular basis to provide community psychiatric health education.
- Attends mandatory training and required staff in-services, orientation and continuing ed
- Demonstrates ability to assist in overall clinical function of the facility through provision of services appropriate to the individual identified needs of the client according to the prescribed plan of care.
- Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments, and staff.

Licensure and Education:
- Must have a Bachelors in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse License through LSBN or compact state
- Maintain BLS and de-escalation certifications
