POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Module Sales for -Utility and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) accounts is responsible for driving business through the sale of Utility and C&I scale photovoltaic (PV) modules in the US. This position reports to the Head of Utility and C&I sales or another member of senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. The position will be based remotely within the continental United States and require travel up to 65%.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Capitalize on Hanwha Q CELLS America's existing solar business to identify and develop future plans;
  • Pursue new opportunities for growth in the US solar market, with a specific focus on selling Q CELLS modules into the utility and large commercial and industrial rooftop sectors (MW scale);
  • Work with U&C Strategic Sales Team ("U&C"), using deep analysis and comprehension of current market dynamics and needs, to develop overall Q CELLS strategy in North America;
  • Develop 'go-to-market' strategies including identification of and approach to strategic partners and customers in the Utility and C&I segments;
  • Define the business model and standard contract terms as well as work with Marketing to define and execute marketing campaigns;
  • Create a strategic plan for market expansion and area development in conjunction with the Marketing department;
  • All other duties as assigned by the Head of U&C.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in solar energy sales and/or business development required
  • Experience working at solar utility or developing firm preferred
  • Experience working at solar distributor or EPC firm preferred
  • Energy storage related experienced preferred
  • Previous experience in sales of solar panels and/or inverters into distribution channels or large installers/developers and experience developing large commercial solar projects, required
  • Substantial network within, and excellent understanding of, utility and commercial solar markets
  • Willingness to travel at least 65% of the time
  • Proven track record closing deals over $10 million
  • Ability to develop business with utility and commercial customers
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of sustainable development and their application to business development
  • Ability to identify and develop key strategic partnerships
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be comfortable interfacing outside the company, including executive presentations, negotiations, and contractual review
  • Proven ability to structure, negotiate, grow and complete multimillion dollar account relationships
  • Must be a strong leader, creative, and possess strategic planning skills
  • High degree of professionalism and conduct

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job's minimum qualifications.
