Full Job Description
The Director of Marketing serves as a vital partner, leading the overarching messaging strategy across all mediums (owned and paid) for the HE&R portfolio, with Hersheypark as the primary driver, along with the Resort properties. This role specifically leads the Marketing Management arm; acting as the ultimate strategic filter and hub that provides messaging direction, timing, and cadence to partner marketing disciplines. The Director will shape go-to-market marketing campaigns, ensure messaging hits business objectives, drive cross-functional collaboration, and push the team toward excellence to achieve overarching revenue and demand targets.

Job Functions:
  • Lead the Marketing Management team, empowering them to act as the hub of the department by defining messaging direction, timing, cadence, and critical details for partner teams.
  • Lead the go-to-market messaging strategy across our diverse portfolio of brands, leveraging a deep understanding of business metrics to hit established KPIs, demand, and sales targets.
  • Guide the Marketing Management team in balancing immediate, real-time execution with proactive planning, ensuring strategies are continually adapted and paced out.
  • Partner closely and collaboratively with leaders from Creative, Project Management, Paid Media, Communications, and Digital to align messaging and lead multidisciplinary execution through strong influence and shared vision.
  • Prioritize team workload and resource allocation, ensuring the team remains laser-focused on the highest-ROI business objectives, while scaling support appropriately for secondary priorities.
  • Oversee the review and approval of assets, ensuring all messaging is consistently on-brand, hits the strategic objective, and is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with property-level operational leaders (such as Directors of Food & Beverage, Spas, Revenue Management, etc.) to ensure marketing initiatives align with operational business needs, while guiding the Marketing Management team in their day-to-day collaboration with these partners.
  • Act as an invested, highly visible leader who works alongside the team, equipping them with the support, guidance, and strategic direction needed to consistently deliver high-quality work on deadline.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources, and tracking expenses.
  • Stay proactively informed of the latest trends, tools, and news associated with the amusement park, resort, hospitality, marketing and digital marketing industries to champion innovation and adapt strategies to a changing market environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of Marketing or other related experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a formal supervisory role, with responsibility for a team of full-time direct reports.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Exceptional proactive and collaborative communication skills, with a strong focus on active, face-to-face collaboration, and the ability to lead and align cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized with the ability to toggle seamlessly between granular daily execution and 30-60-90 day strategic planning.
  • Strong business acumen with a track record of driving demand-generating messaging strategies that meet and exceed overarching business goals.
  • Proven experience as a leader adept at developing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, and maintaining high morale in a fast-paced environment.
