Full Job Description
We seek a motivated Director of Manufacturing to join our seed-stage startup. In this role, you will lead the rapid manufacturing team at Parallel Fluidics to fabricate custom microfluidic devices for customers. You will be responsible for all aspects of the production process and ensure customer orders ship on-time and in-spec. The ideal candidate is comfortable with uncertainty and can solve open-ended problems systematically. We value individual ability and drive more than experience. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and improve all aspects of our rapid manufacturing process, including CNC micromilling, injection molding, film handling, thermal bonding, optical inspection, and transition molding (our proprietary technology at Parallel Fluidics).
  • Manage resources, equipment, personnel, and schedules to ensure on-time and in-spec delivery of customer orders.
  • Create robust systems to improve yield and efficiency.
  • Recruit and train new talent for the production team.
  • Review customers' designs for compatibility with our manufacturing process.
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team to develop and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Design and execute experiments to optimize process parameters.
  • Quickly troubleshoot problems in the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee maintenance of the facility and equipment.
  • Work closely with the founders to scale our manufacturing service.
