Life Pacific University (LPU) seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position to Direct our Master of Arts in Education & Education Initiatives. The preferred start-date for this full-time position is April 1, 2027.

The position involves directing the MEd program scheduled to launch in 2027 and serving as the lead for all education initiatives at LPU. This is a full-time teaching position with release time for administrative tasks as director. Faculty rank and compensation depend upon degree and experience.

PURPOSE

The Director of the MA in Education & Education Initiatives is responsible for overseeing the online graduate degree, supervising adjunct faculty teaching in the program, partnering with enrollment and marketing to meet recruitment goals, and leading program assessment. S/he will oversee and collaborate to support students in the program, and related educational webinars and/or events. S/he will represent and champion the program at local and national events, lead the program committee and teach in the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Reports to the Dean of Arts and Sciences and Provost.
  • Oversees curriculum for the MA program, maintains course/program quality (establishes review cycle, ensure established instructional design is followed, and approves any changes to course design).
  • Works with LPU staff to assure program effectiveness, and proper functionality of the program.
  • Collaborates with the Dean and Provost to recruit, evaluate, and schedule adjunct faculty teaching in the program.
  • Conducts the annual assessment of student learning outcomes following the assessment plans established for the program. Revises the assessment plans as needed. Ensures that changes recommended through assessment are implemented in the programs.
  • Monitors program courses in online learning platform, ensuring they are refreshed/recreated as needed. Works with the academic office to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintains the budget for the MA in Education and related Educational Initiatives.
  • Collaborates across multiple departments for support MEd program/student needs.
  • Serves as the Chair the Education academic committee and other committees as directed by the Provost.
  • Keeps regular attendance at staff and faculty meetings and participates in all required school functions (i.e. Graduation, Baccalaureate etc.)
  • Performs other duties assigned by Dean or Provost.


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of a terminal degree in related field with experience in online teaching.
  • Proficient in computer and Web based education, Canvas LMS experience is a plus.
  • Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the general constituency of the University.
  • Sees the recruitment and retention of students as an important responsibility.
  • Demonstrates commitment to working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Demonstrates Christian faith consistent with Life Pacific's Pentecostal/Charismatic (Foursquare Church) and Wesleyan Arminian stance (must be able to sign Life Pacific's Statement of Faith and align with its position on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity).

NOTE: Though not required, this position is optionally eligible for appointment as a Foursquare minister under certain conditions. If appointed as a minister, the employee will be available to provide pastoral care and prayer. In addition, s/he may be called upon to perform sacerdotal duties upon request of the University.
