Details: Director of Laboratory Services- Candidate must live in Nebraska or Iowa
- This is a hybrid position, must be able to work on campus
- Preferred consideration will be given to applicants with Lean/Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience and Healthcare change management experience

The Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for the operational management of laboratory services to achieve consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes. Build an effective workforce and positive work environment. Ensure innovative, collaborative, and cost-effective systems to support the organization's mission and strategic objectives. Accountable to the chair and vice chair (clinical operations) of the department of pathology and microbiology to plan and execute strategies in support of the departmental mission. Chair and vice chair will provide feedback and input into the annual performance appraisal process.
Required Qualifications: Director of Laboratory Services• Minimum of seven years progressive experience in medical laboratory sciences with extensive knowledge of the industry including economic and regulatory environment, diagnostic methods, and information technology required.
• Minimum three years of leadership experience required.
• Bachelor of Science degree OR alternate route of combined education and experience as recognized by the Board of Certification (BOR) at the time the applicant was certified (including grandfathered recognition as regulated by the BOR) required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Leadership skills which demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate, and support the strategic objectives of the organization required.
• Working knowledge of financials analysis, strategic planning in pathology, health care markets, and performance improvement required.
• Proficiency with a variety of equipment to include; personal computer, software and databases, Laboratory Information System, organization Information systems, laboratory automation, instrumentation and equipment, various types of microscopes, audio-visual equipment, telephone, and office equipment/supplies required.
• Basic understanding of the biology of disease and pathological diagnosis required.
Preferred Qualifications: Director of Laboratory Services• Master's degree preferred.
