Overview

Vi is seeking a Director of IT Systems and Cybersecurity to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across our cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity program, enterprise technology environment, and on-premise physical systems.

Reporting to the Vice President of IT and Chief Information Security Officer, this highly visible leadership role will influence technology direction across the organization while ensuring the security, reliability, and operational integrity of systems supporting our corporate office and communities.

The Director will serve as the organization's subject matter expert across three critical areas:
  • Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Machines, Entra ID, and cloud storage
  • The Microsoft cybersecurity stack and third-party security tools, including Managed Detection and Response and external Security Operations Center services
  • On-premise physical systems, including life safety, audiovisual, digital communications, building access and management, food and beverage, and security systems

This role is ideal for a strategic technology leader who can develop long-term roadmaps while remaining engaged in the operational details needed to protect the organization, support business continuity, and deliver reliable technology solutions across a complex, multi-site environment.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy:
  • In conjunction with the VP of IT and CISO, provides strategic direction for IT systems, cybersecurity, and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Responsible for directly supervising the IT Cybersecurity Analyst. Responsibilities include hiring, training and development, counseling, performance evaluation, functional development and disciplinary action.
  • Oversees vendor management, contract renewals, and service agreements for all technology areas within the role's scope, including Azure, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and on-premise physical systems. Partners with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to support negotiations, monitor vendor performance, and ensure services align with business, security, compliance, and budget requirements.
  • Develops and maintains technology roadmaps for all areas within the role's scope, including Microsoft Azure, cybersecurity tools, enterprise infrastructure, and on-premise physical systems.
  • Establishes and maintains policies, procedures, standards, and documentation related to cybersecurity, IT systems, cloud infrastructure, and physical technology systems.
  • Works closely with onsite staff SMEs to manage and provide planning and project management oversight for MACs of these systems.


Microsoft Azure:
  • Oversees the Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Performs needed MACs (Moves, Adds, Changes) for all Azure-related infrastructure.
  • Oversees technical design, planning, implementation, and support for Azure virtual infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, including Azure Virtual Machines, Entra ID, and cloud storage.


Cybersecurity Operations:
  • Serves as Incident Response Manager for all cybersecurity events, including incident response planning and execution.
  • Directs the Company's security program, including monitoring the environment and ensuring regular patching and updating of all digital systems and equipment.
  • Manages and optimizes the Company's security technology stack, including: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform for log collection, correlation, and analysis; Managed Detection and Response (MDR) platform; and Phishing simulation and security awareness training programs
  • Oversees the Microsoft cybersecurity stack and related third party cybersecurity tools.
  • Oversees Azure security operations including Entra ID management and cloud security controls
  • Manages relationship with external SOC and ensures compliance with agreed-upon SLAs for threat detection and remediation.
  • Develops and maintains security metrics and reporting from these platforms to track security posture and team performance.


On-Premise Physical Systems:
  • Oversees all on-premise physical systems at all locations needed for business operations, including Life Safety (Nurse Call, Lifeline, Wander management, etc.), Audio/Video, Digital Communications, Building Access Management, Building Systems Management, F&B Systems, and Security Systems. Works closely with risk and compliance teams to ensure all systems are in compliance with regulatory requirements.


Budget and Financial Oversight:
  • Recommends and supports budgets for areas of responsibility, including Azure services, cybersecurity tools, infrastructure systems, physical technology systems, vendors, and related projects. Responsible for procurement and oversight of external resources required to assist with assigned projects.


Travel:
  • This position requires 25% travel.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is required. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or cybersecurity roles, with a minimum of 4 years experience in a management or leadership role in a corporate environment is required. Experience with Azure cloud services, incident response, and multi-site IT systems is required.

Licensure / Certification: Advanced cyber security certifications (e.g. CISSP, GIAC, CISM, CGEIT, CCSP, CISA) and Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-500, SC-100, SC-200, SC300) preferred.

Pay Range

USD $157,775.00 - USD $205,094.00 /Yr.
