Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Interest Rates Derivatives & FX is responsible for supporting the Bank's interest-rate derivatives and foreign-exchange activities, including client transactions, balance-sheet and interest-rate risk management, hedging, pricing, execution, portfolio management, and business growth. This role will serve as a key subject-matter expert within the Bank's Capital Markets organization, partnering with Commercial Banking, Finance, Risk, Credit, Operations, and relationship managers to identify and execute derivatives solutions for the Bank and its clients. The role is be expected to develop a deep understanding of the Bank's balance sheet, risk profile, client needs, and strategic objectives and use that knowledge to structure and execute transactions that appropriately balance client service, risk management, liquidity, capital, and profitability. The Director helps drive revenue growth while maintaining disciplined risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across all derivatives and FX activities. This is a hands-on role for an experienced markets professional who can independently price and execute transactions while also helping build and scale the Bank's derivatives capabilities. Consistently gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interest Rate Derivatives

  • Execute and manage interest-rate derivative transactions for the Bank and its clients, including:
    • Interest-rate swaps
    • Caps and floors
    • Swaptions
    • Forward-starting swaps
    • Other approved interest-rate derivative products
  • Price and execute transactions within established risk, credit, liquidity, legal, and regulatory parameters.
  • Develop hedging strategies for loans, securities, deposits, funding, and other balance-sheet exposures.
  • Partner with Treasury and ALM to manage interest-rate risk and optimize the Bank's balance-sheet profile.
  • Analyze yield curves, basis relationships, volatility, market liquidity, and other factors affecting derivative pricing and risk.
  • Monitor and manage derivative positions, including mark-to-market exposure relative to capital, duration, DV01, convexity, basis risk, and counterparty exposure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve hedge effectiveness, execution economics, and overall risk-adjusted returns.


Foreign Exchange

  • Establish an FX transaction platform supporting the Bank and its commercial and corporate clients.
  • Provide pricing and hedging solutions for foreign-currency exposures, including spot, forwards, swaps, and other approved FX products.
  • Monitor currency markets and identify material exposures or opportunities relevant to the Bank and its clients.
  • Coordinate FX hedging activity with Treasury, Corporate Banking, and Capital Markets.


Client Solutions & Business Development

  • Partner with commercial bankers to identify client opportunities for interest-rate and FX risk-management solutions.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in derivatives for bankers and clients.
  • Assist in structuring customized hedging solutions based on client objectives, risk tolerance, and underlying exposures.
  • Participate in client calls and meetings to explain market conditions, hedging strategies, transaction economics, and risk considerations.
  • Help grow the Bank's derivatives revenue while maintaining disciplined risk management and appropriate client suitability.
  • Role will require travel to build relationships with bankers and clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with derivative counterparties, broker-dealers, financial institutions, and other market participants.


Trading, Pricing & Risk Management

  • Maintain real-time awareness of market conditions and execute transactions efficiently and competitively.
  • Establish appropriate pricing and transaction economics consistent with market conditions and the Bank's objectives.
  • Escalate material market, liquidity, credit, operational, or counterparty risks appropriately.
  • Work closely with Risk Management and Finance to ensure appropriate valuation, risk measurement, accounting, and reporting.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining trading, hedging, and risk-management policies and procedures.


Infrastructure & Platform Developmen

  • Help build and enhance the Bank's interest-rate and FX derivatives platform as the business grows.
  • Evaluate new products, counterparties, execution venues, technology, and market-data resources.
  • Work with Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance to implement new products and processes.
  • Improve pricing, trade capture, confirmation, settlement, valuation, and reporting processes.
  • Assist with the development of management reporting and dashboards covering derivatives activity, revenue, exposures, and risk.


Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict adherence to the Bank's risk-management framework, trading authorities, policies, procedures, and limits.
  • Ensure all derivative activity complies with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations.
  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance regarding documentation, suitability, disclosures, regulatory requirements, and permissible activities.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and controls surrounding derivatives transactions.
  • Support internal and external examinations, audits, model validation, and regulatory reviews.
  • Promote a strong risk and control culture throughout all derivatives activities.
  • Adheres to Seacoast Bank's code of conduct.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in interest-rate derivatives, FX, Treasury, and capital markets.
  • Strong practical understanding of interest-rate derivatives and hedging strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to price, structure, and execute derivative transactions.
  • Strong understanding of yield curves, interest-rate risk, duration, DV01, basis risk, and derivatives valuation.
  • Working knowledge of FX markets and hedging products.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret market movements and translate them into actionable hedging or trading strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives, relationship managers, clients, counterparties, and control functions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a regional or super-regional bank.
  • Experience supporting commercial and corporate banking clients.
  • Experience managing or hedging bank balance-sheet exposures.
  • Experience with derivatives documentation, including ISDA agreements and related schedules.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv/LSEG, or comparable market-data platforms.
  • Familiarity with FASB hedge accounting and bank regulatory capital considerations.
  • Familiarity with Dodd-Frank/derivatives regulatory requirements and applicable swap-dealer/intermediary requirements.
  • FINRA or other applicable securities/markets licenses, as appropriate to the responsibilities of the position.
