Join a passionate and energetic 13-person Development team as Director of Individual Philanthropy reporting to the Chief Development Officer. The purpose of this position is to lead the Development Department's relationship-based individual giving philanthropy by developing frontline fundraising staff, managing donor portfolios, and growing philanthropy through personalized donor engagement.

The Development team's office is in West Rogers Park, and all team members are welcome to work remotely up to four days per week.
Knowledge, Skills and Responsibilities:
- Oversees strategic initiatives to grow relationship-based individual philanthropy revenue including donor cultivation and engagement programs, prospecting activities, and planned giving opportunities.
- Supervises, coaches, and develops two frontline fundraising staff to build a high-performing culture of relationship-based fundraising.
- Manages a portfolio of 80 major and mid-level donors, modeling best practices in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Leads portfolio management process, consistently reviewing portfolios of frontline fundraisers, moving qualified donors into portfolios, and ensuring department's focus on priority donors.
- Partners with the Chief Development Officer to develop and advance principal gift strategies and maximize relationship-based fundraising associated with major donors.
- Collaborates with event planning team to generate sponsorship support for annual gala.
- Represents the Agency to Board members, volunteers, other stakeholders and outside Organizations.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree.
- Seven or more years of experience (or equivalent) cultivating and soliciting individual and major donors.
- Has a strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Able to travel within the Chicago metropolitan area and work occasional evenings/weekends based on donor needs and scheduled events.
Preferences:
- Experience managing and coaching other frontline fundraisers.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the Chicago Jewish community.
