Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Director Human Resources will develop and drive comprehensive and scalable HR solutions through the generation of insights, diagnosis and develop progressive HR interventions to meet the functions strategic and tactical objectives. The Director will deliver these solutions by working with business leaders and managers across business segments to ensure best-in-class HR practices. This role requires both strategic and tactical skill sets demonstrating personal accountability to ensure objectives are result driven, innovative, communicated and focused.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop thorough understanding of Company strategy, business operations, culture and competition with knowledge around key HR customer/functions. Be a strategic thinker who anticipates emerging business needs and works with customers to identify HR business solutions that support the overall objectives.
  • Diagnose current HR operations and develop interventions to establish increased efficiency and effectiveness, with focus on a comprehensive approach to talent, HR compliance, compensation and benefits, payroll and employee relations.
  • Manage HR programs and employee relations within a unionized workforce, including CBA administration, grievance resolution, labor-management relations, and compliance with labor laws and contractual obligations.
  • Develop and implement competitive approach to total compensation including base salaries, bonus and commission plans as appropriate, in coordination with compensation team.
  • Define needs and provide input into the development of the longer-term HR strategy to meet customer priorities across the full range of HR functions, including talent management (development, acquisition, and retention), training and development, culture, diversity, organization design and effectiveness, compensation and employee relations.
  • Partner with leadership and Talent Team to build talent capability across the organization through talent acquisition, talent development, and diversity. Build internal and external pipelines where practical to ensure a sustainable bench of growing and ready-now talent for key positions.
  • Assess talent and leadership development requirements and partner with Talent/Development Team to develop and/or facilitate the delivery of key training programs.
  • In collaboration with leadership, build a positive employee environment and drive key initiatives in support of a performance culture built on accountability, employee engagement and recognition that emphasizes Company values and competencies.
  • Monitor and analyze key workforce metrics including headcount, turnover, retention, emplo0yee engagement, time to fill and performance outcomes providing insights on trends and analyses to divisional leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Human Resources Managers. Establish performance expectations and accountability standards for team members. Drive consistency in HR service delivery across the division. Create development opportunities and succession plans for HR staff.
  • Act as coach and trusted business advisor to influence business leaders and HR peers in areas of leadership, employee relations, organization capability and effectiveness, talent, performance management, rewards and recognition, change management and the potential impact of short- and long-term decisions and strategies.
  • Identify and implement business process improvements, position and organizational design review to ensure the balance between resource/workload and clear roles/responsibilities.
  • Ensure the consistent application of and compliance with HR and Company policies, processes and systems across diverse business segments.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, advanced degree preferred.
  • Possess 10 years of experience in a Human Resources role that has focused on organization/talent capabilities, and change management
  • 7+ years of union labor relations experience.Experience supporting multiple locals and trades in Construction, telecommunications, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other field-based union environments

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to speak clearly in group settings.
  • This position will require sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, bending, and using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity.
