Full Job Description
The Opportunity

IDN is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead the full HR function for the organization. This is a hands-on, high-scope role: the Director owns compensation and benefits strategy end to end, runs full-cycle talent acquisition across all departments including high-volume clinical and shift-based roles, and leads a team of seven. This is a high visibility role, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Key responsibilities include:

  • Own compensation and benefits strategy across the organization, including plan design, market benchmarking, and structural review as IDN's workforce and roles evolve.
  • Partner with leaders to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous growth.
  • Lead full-cycle talent acquisition for all 400+ positions, including clinical, logistics, aviation, and administrative roles, building and managing a recruiting function capable of competing for top talent in a competitive healthcare labor market.
  • Support leadership and employees in a complex, highly regulated 24 / 7 / 365 environment.
  • Manage and develop an HR team of seven, spanning recruiting, compensation and benefits administration, and generalist support.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the COO and senior leadership team on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy.
  • Ensure HR practices support IDN's operating standard of hiring and retaining top talent without compromise.

Qualifications

This is not an administrative HR post. The successful candidate will be a strategic operator who has designed and managed compensation structures and benefit plans, not merely administered them, and who has run talent acquisition at scale in a complex, regulated operating environment. Given IDN's national standing and the caliber of talent the organization intends to attract into every seat, the Director of HR must be equally capable of representing that standard.

IDN is based in Indianapolis, and this is an in-market role; candidates must be willing to relocate to the Indianapolis area. Qualifications include:

Required Experience:
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification.

Preferred Experience:
  • Healthcare or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • Experience leading HR strategy in a complex healthcare or highly regulated environment.

The Organization

Indiana Donor Network employs approximately 400 team members across Indiana and supports complex, 24/7 operations including organ recovery, tissue services, logistics, aviation, and administrative functions. The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic leader supporting this mission-driven workforce.

Why You will Love Working Here
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
  • Employer-funded Health Savings Account contributions.
  • Paid pet insurance.
  • Annual performance and retention bonuses.
  • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • A collaborative culture where your work has a direct impact on saving and enhancing lives.

If you're ready to lead with purpose and build a workplace where people and missions thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
