DescriptionThe Director of Human Resources at HFCA will be a key strategic leader, responsible for driving and overseeing HR functions across the organization. The Director of Human Resources will provide expert guidance to senior leadership, lead a dynamic HR team, and foster a workplace culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent. This role requires a proven ability to manage complex HR functions while enhancing the overall employee experience and ensuring legal compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic HR Leadership:- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with HFCA's overarching business objectives, supporting growth and organizational effectiveness.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief People Officer ensuring that HR practices and policies reflect and support HFCA's mission and vision.
- Partner with the Chief People Officer to design and implement workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development strategies that support long-term success.
- Oversee the development of HR initiatives and programs that drive organizational change, performance, and culture.
- Goal: Align staffing levels with the school's long-term strategic goals, ensuring 100% alignment of staffing plans with HFCA's growth, new programs, and curriculum changes.
Employee Relations & Organizational Culture:- Foster a positive and inclusive culture at HFCA that encourages collaboration, open communication, and employee engagement.
- Act as a strategic partner and advisor to management on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Lead efforts to address employee concerns and resolve disputes, ensuring fair and equitable treatment while aligning with HFCA's values and compliance requirements.
- Goal: Achieve an 80% or higher satisfaction rate in annual employee engagement surveys, reflecting positive school culture and strong staff morale.
Talent Acquisition & Retention:- Oversee the design and implementation of recruitment strategies that attract high-quality, diverse candidates to HFCA.
- Drive talent retention programs that enhance employee satisfaction, performance, and overall engagement, supporting HFCA's long-term success.
- Ensure an efficient and effective onboarding experience for new employees to integrate them seamlessly into the HFCA environment.
- Goal: Achieve a teacher retention rate of 85% or higher each year, ensuring that top talent remains in the school and the teaching staff remains stable.
Compensation & Benefits:- Inconsultation with the Chief People officer the creation and execution of competitive compensation and benefits strategies that are in line with HFCA's market positioning, ensuring employee retention and satisfaction.
- Continuously assess industry standards and adjust and assist in HFCA's compensation and benefits offerings to remain competitive and compliant with applicable laws.
- Manage salary reviews, promotions, and benefit administration while fostering transparency and fairness within the organization.
- Goal: Achieve and maintain salary equity across all employee categories, with no significant disparities based on gender, race, or other protected characteristics.
Training & Development:- Oversee the design and implement professional development programs that focus on building leadership capabilities, fostering skill development, and enhancing employee performance.
- Partner with department heads to identify learning needs and create development plans that align with HFCA's strategic objectives.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous learning to ensure that employees at all levels of the organization can grow and contribute to HFCA's mission.
- Goal: Demonstrate a 15% improvement in student outcomes in classrooms where teachers have completed specific professional development programs.
Compliance & Risk Management:- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Oversee the update of HFCA's employee handbook, policies, and procedures to reflect legal requirements and best practices.
- Proactively manage risk related to employee relations, labor laws, and workplace safety, minimizing legal exposure for the organization.
- Goal: Ensure 100% compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations during annual HR audits and other compliance checks.
HR Analytics & Reporting:- Establish HR metrics and analytics, presenting insights and data-driven recommendations to the Chief People Officer for continuous improvement in HR operations and business outcomes.
- Oversee HR systems (HRIS) ensuring accurate data management, reporting, and HR efficiency.
- Goal: Increase HR process efficiency, targeting an 80% automation of routine HR functions such as payroll, benefits administration, and performance reviews.
Leadership & Team Development:- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the HR team, ensuring that HR professionals are motivated, well-supported, and aligned with HFCA's strategic goals.
- Foster a results-oriented, high-performance HR team environment through effective goal-setting, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Collaborate with department heads to align HR team efforts with business priorities, ensuring that HR plays a key role in organizational success.
- Goal: Identify and develop 5-10 potential leaders within the school each year, ensuring a strong leadership pipeline and internal promotion opportunities for future school leadership positions.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; a Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing HR functions.
- Proven track record of success in managing and optimizing complex HR functions within an organization of similar size and scope.
