About the Opportunity
The Director of Human Resources leads the Human Resources and Administration function for the organization, overseeing all HR programs, policies, and staff for over 450 employees. The Director will report directly to the CFO and will supervise a team of three HR staff professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 3 HR staff, assigning work and managing performance
  • Serve as the senior HR leader for all affiliated companies, ensuring consistent, compliant, and locally appropriate HR practice across entities
  • Review salary structures across all companies, including benchmarking against market/industry data where feasible
  • Evaluate current benefits offerings for cost-effectiveness, competitiveness, and equity across entities
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes across all entities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law across all jurisdictions
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR policies, and procedures
  • Oversee HRIS administration, personnel recordkeeping, and reporting
  • Manage employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Oversee leave administration, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims
  • Direct performance management processes, including reviews and goal-setting cycles
  • Support leadership development and succession planning initiatives
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives across a multi-company workforce
  • Oversee training and development programs, including compliance training
  • Manage HR department and vendor relationships (benefits brokers, payroll providers, HRIS, legal counsel)

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree a plus
  • Progressive HR experience, including prior experience in a leadership/management role
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation structure design, salary benchmarking, or benefits redesign
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead compensation/benefits benchmarking and analysis projects
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for learning and implementing new technologies in creative and practical ways
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including presenting to senior executives
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office/HR reporting tools
  • Experience supporting multiple business units, subsidiaries, or a multi-entity organizational structure strongly preferred
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
