Director of Nursing (Health Services)

 

RiverWoods Exeter is currently hiring for a Director of Nursing to join our team! This person is responsible for leading our Health Services team at our Woods Campus at RiverWoods Exeter. We are looking for a nursing leader that can work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team within the organization to facilitate consistent clinical processes across assisted living units, who embrace their role to educate, empower and provide psychological safety to their residents and staff. The Director is a partner with other leaders in the organization and that is how we provide exceptional care/service to our residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and lead the nursing services, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  • Participate in facility surveys and inspections made by authorized government agencies.
  • Make budgetary recommendations and maintain budget variances.
  • In Partnership with our Social Service, & Wellness teams coordinate the acceptance of residents for admission to the facility. Provide information related to the nursing needs of the resident and the health service department's ability to meet those needs.
  • Conducts Level of Care assessments for new admissions and during prescribed intervals and coordinates MoCA evaluations with Social Services.
  • Leads and directs the coordination of nursing services with other ancillary services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
  • Identifies and maintains staffing needs necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents. Assists in the recruitment and selection of nursing service personnel.
  • Delegates to nursing service supervisory personnel the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties.
  • Performs daily leadership rounds of the health center service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
  • Provide direct care as necessary.
  • Review nurse’s notes for accuracy and to ensure that they reflect the resident's response to the care.
  • Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules and willingly assists when additional resources are needed.
  • Provides off hours/weekend on-call administrative support as needed to clinical team.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must posses, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree or Diploma from an accredited college, university or nursing school
  • Minimum of five (5) years equivalent in nursing within a long-term care facility.  Specialized knowledge of nursing care of the elderly and rehabilitative nursing is preferred.
  • Must hold a registered nursing (RN) license within the State of New Hampshire. CPR (BLS certification) is required.
